  • @xTigerEditing Man, I feel for you. U2 was my aunt's favorite band and she died this past week. I am saddened every time I hear every song because I remember she's gone.

  • no its about ireland were U2 is from cause no streets need names were everyone knows were there going and they no were they have been when most of the families that live there have been there for hundreds of years....

  • @g8rsk8r2000 You idiot, it's not LITERALLY about street names. God I get so annoyed with non-deep people. (btw I AM deep and people like me think of your comment as what-the-hell). :*

  • @XeetX2 the song is about new york numbered street and avenues!!

its from joshua tree which references Americana throughout and the freedom usa offers.

ireland in the 80's was a very different place to what is today, due to the troubles of terrorism and occupation. the us must of been a liberating experience for lads who'd grown up in ireland during 70's and 80's.

  • @hmdmusmc I respect that, but U2 never seemed to be good to me, just alright. And once I heard 30stm's cover i totally thought that was one of their songs until I remembered U2. This song and 30STM were made for each other, there's no denying that haha

  • I like the 30 seconds to mars version 100 times better

  • @xTigerEditing i am so so sorry to hear about that dude. i cant even imagine wot that must have been like to go through :(

  • @xTigerEditing I'm soo sorry for your loss

  • @xTigerEditing I understand. There are certain things that remind me of the instant I realized my son was dead, Music can be a very powerful tool of recollection; probably second only to smell.

  • @xTigerEditing I know the feeling. This was my Step-dad's favorite song. Every time i hear it i cry because it not only reminds me that he's gone, but this is also the song we played at his funeral. I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you are okay. Remember there will always be a brighter tomorrow. :)

  • @xTigerEditing

  • @xTigerEditing I'm really sorry, that's awful..... so was her name Sarah Jessica Parker?

  • Songs like this make me realise how much I miss bands, and songs like this. Bring this kind of music back. please

  • why is there a suggestion of Kate Perry "Firework" oh yeah forgot bout 4th of July, that song would fit with Independence Day :O

  • The reason the Bruins won the Stanley Cup is 'cause they came onto the ice with this song :)

  • @XXxxxiLuvmusicxxxXX right on brotha

  • @wild1033 I've lived in America all my 14 years of life and I have never been to Canada and find that offensive... I have met Canadians though and I think that most Canadians are nicer than most Americans and have better manors than Americans. Also you always get stuck up people I mean come on I'm very proud of the U. S. of A. but face it, a lot of Americans are also ignorant.

  • @2003dudley move to cananda yo!

  • its songs like this that u never want them to end

  • GO CANUCKS! THIS Is awesome song that plays at the intro when they go on ice and I grew up with this song. My dad plays this song alot and loves it too.

  • @spspear81 Cool if you've ever been to a game how they play this song showing past Canuck highlights, then a whale light show on the ice, then the players come out at the part where the ryhthym picks up,gives one goosebumps I tell you! GO CANUCKS<EAT THE BEAR<CUP IS OURS!

  • @TheGeorgecostanza so much for that.. im wearing my 2011 bruins stanley cup hat as i type this.. want me to send you one?? lmaoooooooooooooo

  • @Ayersdawwgah I like the Bruins too bro! Always have. A lot of history there from the Big Bad Bruins,Orr,Don Cherry(read his book,it's hillarious if you haven't read it!) Cash,Espo,Bourque, etc. You now what. I told every one in Vancouver that day that the bruins were going to win that day, there was no way they were going to come in here and lose another road game. They only lost buy a bad break the other three, other than that Thomas was phenomenal between the pipes. Will take you up on offer,Lol

  • @TheGeorgecostanza excellent i approve of these statements.. go b's go

  • @Ayersdawwgah lots of nice Stanley Cup Champions merchandise currently available there? Am serious I can paypal you some funds if you could grab me a white XL NICEST Bruins t-shirt and hat available? Am serious! PM me will give you email address and we can chat further, best regards!

  • best album i've ever listened to. every song is a gem.

  • *** A classic masterpiece of musical genius!

  • Love this song. The ending sounds like the entrance to heaven <3

  • @papacharlie123 Agreed☺

  • The greatest "fade in" in The History Of Rock.

  • "i wanna feel some lad on my face" lol

  • Thumbs up if you came here because of the Vancouver Canucks.

  • @JZKazeX canucks suck. the team AND the people.

  • @wild1033 i don't mind the opinion on the team, cause people troll all the time, but did you have to go and say the PEOPLE suck to? I'm not even from Vancouver and i find that offensive.

  • @JZKazeX i've never met a candadian i liked. every single one is completely full of themselves especially ones from the quebec area. they have an extremely low opinion of americans. montreal fans boo when our national anthem is played. not to mention all the canucks on youtube omg you think i troll? read comments on any of the candada vs. usa gold medal game videos and i think you'll have a hard time disagreeing with me. as far as the vancouver canucks go, i'm a wild fan so i gotta hate lol

  • @wild1033 Every Canadian I've met I've liked. And as far as rock music goes, Canadian Indie is leading the way. Just sayin'

  • @wild1033 Dude who doesnt have a low opinion of Americans?

  • @Yakiller69 yeah i don't get it. people from all over world move here. land of opportunity. we give money to countries in need even when we are going through troubled times as well. i hate american haters! lol

  • @wild1033 Im Canadian though and frankly im tired of people baggin on the States too to be honest.

  • @Yakiller69 yea me too. i don't mind canada by the way lol i was just playin trailer park boys is my favorite show lol

  • @wild1033 yea alright lol no problem i just dont like people baggin on canada either especially when they havent been here and dont know anything about it

  • Comment removed

  • @wild1033 Go Canucks go,we aren't all that bad and disliked here in Canada bro,are we? From a Canucks fan, peace!

  • @TheGeorgecostanza why don't you just speak for yourself!! stereotyping = just being plain ignorant!!!

shame on those too who think the way you do !! The "NHL gods" will panish those tonight -eh!

  • The intro of this song makes me want to run and never stop :)

  • Sleep Sleep tonight And may your dreams Be realized If the thundercloud Passes rain So let it rain Rain down on him Mmm...mmm...mmm... So let it be Mmm...mmm...mmm... as well as "I love toasting roast" :D. My sister set me straight years ago ^^

  • 20 people live in a street with name

  • for fukin sure :P whoo

  • This is my second favourite U2 song (after Vertigo, of course)

  • 18 people don't like streets without a name.

  • Heartbeats....

  • I'd always heard this song on the radio, wondered who it was by.

    Now I know (:

  • my favorite U2 song

  • where the streets have no name = a place you can get lost - just up and run away from your responsibilities and be free. i'd like to climb a mountain and piss on it, leave my mark there forever.

  • God the last 50 seconds are absolutely breathtaking

  • @viperdude281

No, the whole 5½ minutes are breathtaking!

  • @UglyCrispies Yeah I totally agree but the last 50 seconds are ABSOLUTELY breathtaking ;-)

  • i fell in love with U2 and this song in 6th period.

  • this is truly a perfect song. there's nothing in the world quite like it

  • U2 died after this album.

  • @heliwithH

u2 did not die after this album, at all. they just went on to a different style of music in the 90's. but if you listen to their new stuff, like ATYCLB-NLOTH, you will actually notice they are going back to this kind of u2.

if you have actually listened carefully to their new stuff, then idk y u think they died.

  • @heliwithH I wouldn't say that, They definately changed their sound, but I don't think they lost their originality until the new millenium. I mean sure some parts of Zoorapa and Pop were questionable but there were also many great tracks on both albums and they turned out to be two of the most original albums ever made. And I mean come on man Achtung baby was amazing!

  • @heliwithH

yes, because this was their greatest album ever!!! :D

  • @heliwithH STFU -.-

  • Amazing.

  • 17 people missed the like-button...

  • u2's best song? thumbs up! .... upper....xD

  • haha that last pic of the group together looks like bono an the edge have been jibjabbed!!!

  • @BreathCtrlPlay "I wanna feel some blood on my face" would just sound weird and wouldn't fit at all. definitly says sunlight.

  • I was named after this album.

  • @zombiemoviemaker900 thats awesome dude!

  • In that images, The Edge looks like Chuck Norris O.O'

  • this song gives me a boner

  • WOW! So now muslim terrorist are leaving messages on youtube...well at any rate I enjoy the song. Good job

  • I was looking 4 dis song EVERYWHERE!!!!! Sheesh, so glad I found it! :)

  • I want to see your semen in between my thighs.

  • @ BreathCtrlPlay and Kiwinil ...the song should say "blood" ...America is a war maker country, where the streets have not name but just numbers.

  • it should say "blood" ...America is a war maker country, where the streets have not name but just numbers.

  • One night while my mom was in college, she went to the bar, where she met a musician-looking guy. He asked her for a metaphor for heaven - she replied that her grandfather, my great grandfather, had always called it "Where the streets have no names". A month or two later, FA-BAM! This song came out.

  • Because the last two posts are mildly confused....U2's success and involvement with Ethiopia were foretold to Bono by that girl and their manager and secretary were involved in calls in 1984 and letters Anne, the secretary held were dated and sealed from May to Nov. 1984. One contained the photo of Adinew. THEN came Geldof's call, BandAid, LiveAid, and Bono and his wife lived in Ethiopia in an orphage one month in 1985. A later miracle in 1990's involved me, Mother Theresa, an icon, Africa again

  • U2, takes, (or in the 80s took) their religion seriously. Bono & Clayton almost left the band over the incongruity of their religion and the rock n roll lifestyle. Not to say they are the hell and damnation type christians but rather the peace and love type. "Bloody Sunday" is about stopping the religious violence in Northern Ireland and makes specific reference to Jesus as do some of their other songs. That said, :In the name of Love" is about MLK and references his assasination in Memphis.

  • erdksgdfwbkghbgjdbnjfnbvjsgbhkfj

  • All arguments aside U2 is great :)

  • 17 people better run. for i have the wrath of Chuck Norris on my side.

  • @BreathCtrlPlay Its sunlight on my face.......

  • Thank you for the wonderful song!!!

  • @BreathCtrlPlay no way man

  • @BreathCtrlPlay No, its definitely "sunlight" in every version I've heard. If you check the official lyrics on U2.com (where I got these ones from), it says sunlight.

  • 17 people live in a street with name

  • *Listens to awesome song*

    *Looks at comments*

    *Religion flamewar*

    *facepalm*

  • this is the kind of song where you have to turn up the volume really loud in order to fully experience it

  • wow, thanks for your gay ass religion debate. but anyways i love this song

  • 17 people dont have any taste for music

  • gotta love The Edge's riff.

  • in Soviet Russia, street names you

  • @professionalkillergk hahahahaha

  • @professionalkillergk In Soviet Russia, Religion and Science debates YOU!

  • @professionalkillergk haha so funny, NOT fagget

  • @loverofmusic702 who said it was supposed to be funny?

  • @loverofmusic702 yo papa

  • @professionalkillergk no, yo papa

  • @loverofmusic702 my papa is your grandpapa

  • @professionalkillergk my papa is jesus

  • @loverofmusic702 this explains....so...much

  • this is one of their best songs in my opinion

  • My street has a name -_-

  • holaa ...chaooo....

  • !!!!!!

  • in japan the streets have no name <3

  • There is nothing overtly Christian about this song. period. I agree that it's very spiritually driven, as are a lot of things for Bono and The Edge, but the lyrics make no specific appeal to christianity. The fact that some of the members of the band were raised Christian, and still recognize their faith in no way means that U2 is a 'Christian band'. Jimmy Page had a passing interest in the occult, but that doesn't mean Zeppelin was a satanic band...

  • @guitarguru72 i get what you are saying. however, in a ton of their songs they have meanings behind the lyrics that are chritian. like in vertigo, it says your love is teaching me how to kneel, meaning how to pray.

  • Daddy , thankyou for showing me what real music is like =)

  • @xxpinkdayxx omg I feel the same way. My dad teaches me real music from all the way from the 60's. Thank You dad!psu2 rocks!

  • @butterflynaijahmaria yeah , its always nice to know what our parents used to listen to , and they are awesome :)

  • The coversations I have witnessed over the years, here on youtube make me laugh a little. Kiwinil, I agree with your comment. Loverofmusic702, go "fuk" yourself

  • I just listin to my mind, and my mind says U2..
