  • kool vid. I went kayak fishing off of hannas reef on east bay last weekend. pretty kool, my 1st time. I think my next adventure will be the gulf, now that i have a gps/fish finder. Do you have a gps? We need to hook up and go together sometime bro! What kinda kayak do you think is best? Im thinking of buying another one

  • i live in galveston, tracking the tarpon down is not easy by any means

  • I didn't know there are tarpon in galveston.

  • Hey cool video. What a thrill.

  • Wat bait Did Yall use

  • Did you "land" the Tarpon? A Tarpon on the line is big enough given the numbers that play out. Greatness you were able to get it on film. I lost a super kingfish recently as I was so excited I was jacking around with my camera and lost him. Thanks for sharing. I recently invested in the "spot" gps messenger, just in case something really bad happens...kind of like a cheaper e-pirb. You just can't ever respect the open water enough.

  • Yes, it was landed and a satellite tag was placed in the fish. The tag popped off early in just 10 days, the fish had already made it near the mouth of the Mississippi from Gavleston, TX.

  • Ever caught something that made you wherry of being in just a Kayak? I'm in Friendswood and fish east, west, Indian, and surf side. I have caught shark at all except east beach.

  • @killler73 i had an 8foot bull shark eat a skip jack i was realling in durin october at east beach

  • thats just beast all i can say

  • That is what I call Extreme Adventure.

Going 10-15 miles offshore on a kayak is adventure. What size of trolling motor do u use and do you have a boat also to pick you up if it storms.

  • We paddel 2-5 miles straight out and then begin trolling horizontally from shore usually in a zig zag patter.

No trolling motors used, Paddle Power only. No safety boats either, you have to watch the weather closely, it's the #1 priority.

  • @texastrack410 3 miles

  • How do you go out so far into the gulf. How much time does it take to get out there. What about weather, tides, do you use these to get there also.

  • You simply paddle out, you can conservatively cover 3.5-4.0 mph with a fully loaded kayak. Getting out is not the problem, it's trolling another 10-15 miles to find fish. Weather is extremely important while offshore kayak fishing, you have to constantly watch for storms and access the conditions. In addition, I use a VHF to get weather updates and at times someone is watching the radar back home.

  • What artist recorded the music for the background on this video? Great catch by the way. Way to get one on one with nature!!!

  • Skycamefalling 10.21 (9th track)
