I have a black 5spd 91 crx si,it has headers,m.s.d. ign kit,ractive pipe and a intake. this is my forth crx,i love them,hate the brakes on them though.I dust alot of cars on the take off.the crx is fast,its ok.But its really just a quick sprinter,it climbs in numbers really quick,an its so light.take off the back hatch,plexie glass it,and that thing takes off!!!!!Anyway,I love honda for making the 'crx',crazy cool car, an handles so well! Two words for all the real C.R.X. lovers,Almost Perfect

I used to hate compact cars. They seemed like a failed attempt at compromise. Maturity and reality set in after owning my first compact, a 88 CRX Si. Now I see very clearly what I was missing. Go Honda.

@abdulios No Civic/CRX came with a B16A in the US. The Si had a SOHC D16A6 making about 106hp.

Just had a G - Red Honda CRX 1989, 1600cc, 160 BHP, fastest I got out of it was 127MPH and it still had more to go. Very nippy small muscle car it was and reliable as f**k. Cheap insurance and fun all around. Sold it recently as lost my job but at least I could say I truly had a car of the eighties. Big time.

i luv the CRX Si. honda wasnt f**kin around when they built this thing. just as well as the hatchback civic Si. gotta love em. i had the hatch model and it was just as fun to drive as the CRX. dam i love the ef civics.all u need is a short shifter and a stg 2 clutch and its that much more fun. screw the intake header and exhaust.

Depending on what engine it has the car can be pretty quick because it is so light weight. Even with a single cam motor like the d16a6 and single cam vtec motors like the z6 the crx can be fast. And for a fairly cheap price you can start to put in more powerful b-series engines like the b16a or b18c. That is why a lot of people tune these cars up, because you can get decent power for cheap.

Hell yeah that's what's up dawg. But what's up with everyone building SOHC VTEC's? I've always been a fan of the all-motor SOHC boys, but watch that headgasket homie. I had a '90 CRX with a B18A1 'Teggy LS motor and a GSR transmission. All kinds of internal mods done. Pushing 324hp @ 7,000rpm, redlined at 7,800rpm. Dash and two front seats was the interior, and there wasn't NO radio in the dash. Literally everything that added weight to the car was removed. My shit was fast :P Keep the Rex going

I have had my CRX for 18 years and the original stock engine still purrs. all i do is tune it up every year and that keeps it very happy and healthy. i have only added some sticky Michelins. Honda built a damn nearly flawless and enduring machine with the CRX. Soichiro Honda was still acting as 'supreme advisor' when the CRX was being designed I read somewhere.
