It does work in minecraft 1.0, you just need to change the glowstone beneath the machine because glowstone is NOW comsidered a transparent block, like glass

Captain, I know this was made a whole ago, but there's a way to not have to use levers! Have the button connect to a piston which will push blocks, thus transmitting the signal. Then, when you hit the return, that uses a different moved piston block to detect which rail to deactivate after a few moments of stalling.
