The Zeimpekiko dance from what i understand originated in Asia Minor when both Greek and Turks lived side by side on better terms.. Zeimpekiko formed as an underground dance, danced only by the Μαγκες.. However, it was adopted by both Greeks and Turks.. Turks dance it a more structured and less manly way where as the greeks dance it more freely, more passion and feeling is involved. After all, we all know the true zeimpekiko is greek ;) please, correct me if i am wrong..

The Zeimpekiko dance from what i understand originated in Asia Minor when both Greek and Turks lived side by side on better terms.. Zeimpekiko formed as an underground dance, danced only by the Μαγκες.. However, it was adopted by both Greeks and Turks.. Turks dance it a more structured and less manly way where as the greeks dance it more freely, more passion and feeling is involved. After all, we all know the true zeimpekiko is greek ;) please, correct me if i am wrong..

It's a dance the zeybek millitia's would dance before they went in to battle .. the name of the music (zeybek) comes from them. This is a fact.
They danced like hawks. And Greeks dance more manly? You dance like it's ballet.

For example, the Turkish language has a lot of Persian and Arabic rooted items also. Just like English and French is also influenced by Latin and Celtic.
