  • once you pop, you can't stop^^

  • thumbs up if you are watching this in 2047

  • i cant believe i was born in 1986, this looks like its from 1930

  • @PsiloCybinDreamX I know you weren't being literal, but in no way does this look as old as you think, I mean, I can remember T.V. looking pretty shitty.

  • @johnnycagetheboss lol I was being serious it looks like its at least from the 60's not because of the computer just by how everyone looks and how shitty the camera is

  • At around 2:13 they're talking about Patent infringement issues. Problem then, problem now. The tech patent problem is ridiculous and really stymies innovation.

  • Thanks, seriously to the people who post these vids on YouTube. It's great to see human ingenuity, and market forces accelerating computer technology. To see CEO's in '86 talk about using CDROM's, and email, and the future advances for them is great. I just hope they find a way to send text over a multi-media platform one day. :D (referenced from the talking email vid). Thanks again, I love these.

  • i cant handle all the sexiness in this video

  • i love dvorak

  • I love watching John's old clips from the Tech Tv days and earlier.

  • 2 people didn't get it ^^

  • it's all crap! same john just great!

  • clip off you bastard ... love it

  • LOL - Awesome time travel... I remember those machine, PS2!

  • Same great Dvorak sound, amazingly great hair!

  • Yea once they started to be able to use that extended memory, they really had something to work from. This particular system has a 286, which in theory could handle co-operative multi -tasking and of course the able to address over a mega of RAM. 16 Megs if i remember right. So yea kind of big deal, that plus VGA and PS2. Yea this thing owned back in the day.

  • That was a great watch! Looks like this was filmed in the morning. JCD rules.

  • This is just so fantastic.

    No Agenda for life y'all.

  • He probably should have practised first.

  • Haha, he hasn't changed a bit since then, wow. :)

  • So when was this out and what channel would it be on butr wait PBS might ring a bell since no zdtv was out.

  • It aired from 1983 - 2002. Archive.org has a ton of episodes.

  • The part where Dvorak got it on with that computer was hawt.

  • He just called clones, lawyers.

  • what a piece of crap it took him like a half hour to rip the thing apart. i am sure glad things have changed.

  • Even in 1987 The Macintosh was the computer to "lust" after, not this crap IBM/Microsoft.

  • LOL, how Dvorak waves the hand off... kinda "fuck this" style and then still messing around :D also he sounds just like today ;D

  • This is just too funny! Dvorak is awesome :D

  • Oh the glory days. when John C had credibility and didn't fawn over the likes of adam curry and conspiracy theory crap.

  • "I see no use for the mouse"

  • I remember putting these things out on the deskktop... Dvorak has always talked his mind which is why I've kept up with him since the mid 80's

  • @mrbrent62 I love Dvorak too but you have to admit his latest exploits with Adam curry are not good for him. Conspiracy theories have never been his domain because he has too much rational and logical thinking - why I like the guy!! So what is he doing now!?

    Sad.. :(

  • Dvorak rules. I used to watch this as a kid even though it was obviously for sport coat businessmen.

  • 9.8 mghz, wow, that's blazing fast

  • I recently bought a p4 2.4ghz IBM thinkcenter, and that thing pops apart kinda like that (but easier).

Good to know that John is still the same John we've come to know for the past 2 decades

  • I had one of those and it was dead but lost it in a move except for the unmarked 386 that ran at 16mhz.

  • Vintage Dvorak. Same as the new Dvorak. And that's a good thing. And good to see Gary Kildall, inventor of DOS.

  • Is John Dvorak the same Dvorak, who invented an easier keyboard layout? Gary Kildall invented DOS? I thought it was IBM...

  • Dvorak just found something more exiting than a crappy tv interview. He can't let go of the computer.. unbelievable geeky. Nice Job Dvorak!

  • funny...

  • He will never be satisfied, I guess thats good thing.

  • He looks so young, but he sounds exactly the same. I guess the more things change...

  • He sounds like the crank he is 22 years later.

  • I wonder what Dvorak would do or say if he were to see this now.

  • I love how john is still messing with it

  • Am I the only one who would like to see Stewart Chiefet invited onto TWiT? I think it would be an interesting interview to say the least.

  • what was the benchmark, 6 hours?

  • Oh my god... Dvorak sounds almost exactly the same today!

  • @DarkFoxDK Just a bit more cranky nowadays! :)

  • I predict the ibm PC will be the dominant platform in the year 2000

  • Woot! I want one!!! Just think about that customizability!

  • this is awsome hahah.

  • Wow, 9.8Mhz???

  • Gotta love that view of the SF Bay and the Bay Bridge!
