I don't understand anyone who criticises this.The playing is exquisite. The Fauré lovingly elegant and sweet, and the Marais fast and folksy.

The may be one small mini-lapse with intonation at one point, but, for heaven's sake, it's live.

Her switching of positions and bowing when she plays Le Basque seems to be much different than what my sheet music says. I'm curious if her method is anymore efficient. I'm pretty nervous when it comes to doing things differently than what the sheet music says, but I'm open to any advice.

Is she generally a violinist? It certainly seems so, because, she struggles a bit with the slower response of the the viola's strings. And why else would she play two measures of open G in the Fauré? That was rather painful. Apart from that, a very inspired performance with plenty of emotion.

Great ! I'm actually very fuzzy with violists after having started playing again after a break in favor of the violin and find that their intonation is poor but this is played with the same fun one can play a violin. Musicality is standard in Russia :)

Anna Serova performed a great recital yesterday in Aquila's Festival " Pietre che Cantano" (digit this in google for more infos). " Pietre Che Cantano" (singing stones) is the amazing classical festival annually organizied and directed by Luisa Prayer. Anna and her chamber music group will close the festival playing again next August 21.
