The big beers such as Bud, Coors, Miller, Corona, Tecate, Modelo (except Negra Modelo) all suck and should disappear!

  • Well try Heinenken or Amstel maybe Mythos

  • america the land of beer???¿¿¿ Belgium or Germany are the only 2 countries in the world that could apply for the title: "land of beer"

land of cranberry-juice is a more proper name i think..

  • @yanivonbiatch America has surpassed Belgium and Germany for the amount of microbrews. But Belgium now owns Budweiser, so yeah, Belgium now has shitty, flavorless beer.

  • @BigBillzer Belgium has shitty beer... You must be the most retarted person I have ever heard... Belgium is BEER... As well as Germany...

  • USA, land of beer?

    HAHA

    Germany and Belgium rule!!!!

and okay UK have some good too!

    0:48: RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kingtacco USA land of beer?????

pfff well said brother i live in belguim and ill never move to america just because of thier crappy beer. id rather live in a country with bad weather and great beer than the other way round

  • @spazzynoo Just because you've never had good beer from America doesn't mean there's no good beer in America. There's LOADS of it, you've just never heard of it.

  • "I do like a real hoppy california IPA though... 2 1 month ago"

    West Coast IPA - FTW!

  • "In the Land of the beer" XD

What you guys are brewing over there shouldn´t be called "beer"!

  • On a stopover in LA I thought oh man I'll have one of those famous Budweisers (bottled), but It tasted like it was watered down and I was dissapointed, but for a few minutes I wasn't sure If it was just me, because I was expecting it to be excellent because it's so famous.

    No offense to Bud drinkers.

  • America is the land of beer and yet Budweiser is the beer most Americans drink. Because of marketing, laziness and ignorance. Why not try one of our lovely European beers? Have a beer from Germany (land of beer!) or the UK or even one of the smaller breweries in the US, you can still go back to drinking that Light beer you love so much if you don't like proper beer.

  • As said in the film, sales of imported (European) beers and beers from the smaller US brewers (making 'real' beer) are taking market-share from MillerCoors & AB-InBev.

It seems a good number of American's are fed up with the ubiquitous flavourless light beers and are moving onto better things.

Hopefully we'll see the same here in the UK too; most of the beer bought is just the same old MillerCoors / AB-InBev stuff that tastes nothing like the (used under licence) name would have you believe.

  • fuck your budweiser!

  • Hey everybody shut the fuck up and have a beer you ass holes. Make mine a Budweiser.

  • like he said in the video, most americans haven't even had a real beer, budwieser's just bottled piss.

  • There seem to be a lot of comments here suggesting that European beer is far better than American beer. This was certainly the case twenty-five years ago. However, in this time, thousands of American craft brewers have borrowed from the rich German, English, Belgian, and Czech traditions to create several distinctly American beer styles, as well as excellent interpretations of classic European styles. It's simply uninformed to believe all American beer is bad.

  • Shiner Bock, brewed with attitude in Shiner, Texas. That's good stuff.

  • any beer is great on this sight!

  • It's funny reading the comments from all of tese people who think they are beer carnisaurs. Sales speak for the company and Budweiser gives consumers what they want. I'm tired of hearing know-it-alls tell everyone what good beer is when everyone is buying what they like! Who's wrong when millions of people drink bud light and a few are telling them "that beer isn't good! This other stuff that you don't like is what good beer is!"

  • @johnzachariah I think the issue here is that Bud et al. are brewed with lots of rice and corn. These grains produce sugars that are very efficiently fermented by yeast, producing alcohol but not much flavor. As a result, those beers don't taste very much like malted barley. If you dig that corn and rice taste, then everybody else can go to hell! Nobody can tell you what you like, and furthermore, nothing will kill American beer's effusive creativity like arrogance.

  • My point wasn't at all about what the beer contains. I like a dark beer now and again, but it's not what I view as a "better beer". Like I said before, Bud sells far more than any others. That makes it the "better beer" and not the few who like more malt and hops.

  • You're absolutely right, taste is only in the tongue of the drinker. It sounds like you've tried several craft brews in the past, but one concern is that some people may have never had an all-malt beer. It's like if most people ate every meal at McDonald's, you'd want to encourage them to try a steakhouse too. If then they decide they actually like McD's better, great! It's impossible to argue that one taste is objectively better than another.

  • @johnzachariah No... People are just not informed or properly educated... That's all... X)

  • is this beer or larger

  • @ismcb4sc Lager is one type of beer in which the ferment occurs at cold temperatures, around 12C. Ale is the other type of beer that ferments at warmer temperatures near 18C. Yeast metabolism occurs faster and less efficiently at warmer temperatures, so more flavors are produced. As a result, Ales have fruity flavors produced by yeast while lagers taste more "clean". This usually means the taste is derived just from the malt and hops in a lager.

  • what do the yanks drink is it the lager piss or ale?

  • im sorry but the best beer in the world is from UK... and no, im danish not from the UK... and loves spiciel beers but "THE BEER IS" Newcastle brown ale <3 <3

  • @mhhan - totally agree....I give Bass the edge over Newcastle, but I brew a Nut Brown that is a combination of Newcastle and Bass styles...mmmmmmmmmm tasty! I do like a real hoppy california IPA though...

  • @mhhan man you're wrong the uk and europe in general are the past as far as beer goes the US is the future.

Newcastle is plain and uninspiring. you obviously havent had the chance to really drink great American beer.

Odell, great divide, stone, Rogue, russian river, deschutes...the list goes on

  • @mhhan LOL WHAT A FUCKING JOKE !!!!

  • The Belgian beers are the best!

Jupiler, maes and stella artois are my favorite beers

  • Comment removed

  • "whats similar between american beer and doin it in a canoe? Its fucking close to water!" hahaha best line

  • why you non americans gotta be hatin on our beers. we have many kraft brews around. the only beer you know is scud weiser and coors or pbr. so come blow the USA before you talk about beer

  • "if you listen to your beer, it will tell you things"

DONT FUCK THAT FAT CHICK!! lol

  • now in europe you can say some countries are the land of beer, but america? come on! all this is is a standard david and goliath movie, small business against the giant corporations movie.

  • European beer is better...

  • @Voodoofreak35 i agree, european beer is so much better. I have been living in Germany for half a year now, and I love it. I had an American beer a few weeks ago, an it's so cheap and water down, no flavor.

  • @eboshi1231 I think we all love our local beers, but you may have just had a terrible American beer. Doesn't mean they're all terrible. You should try one of my local beers, Racer 5 from Bear Republic in Healdsburg, California. Lots of flavor -- more hops than most European beers, and about as much malt as a dopplebock.

  • "we make angry beer" Stone! One of my favorite beers. Try the Smoked Porter...ahhhh.

  • america the land of beer? i live in austria and there are about 4 big and many little breweries within 30km round my home and the beer we have also tastes like beer not like brown water...

  • you know .. i just wanted to write that and the first comment i see is an austrian guy writing about austrian beer ^^ ... all i can say now is ... PROST!!!!

  • "Angry beer makes for happy people"....LOL!

Get on the European beer gear; Czech, German & Belgian if you REALLY want to get proper paralytic. And happy :)

  • how many liters you need to dring to get drunk?! bud light is a beer? lol!! lech, tyskie, zywiec, specjal those are beer!!

  • @bizKid0187 i love lech carlsberg and stella artois. cheers

  • Beer is reinvented, what used to be the peon's popular piss is given a new elitist-geek-hipster aura, and some quality with it too!

It would be nice if they'd stop spitting in my beer at the factory, and stop pretending that it's "golden" and not pee tasting.

Beer IS about the competition, creativity and quality.

  • This movie is seriously amazing! Watch the full movie now!

    MovieAndTVOnline.c o m/

It free and takes no time at all!

  • This documentary changed my views as to how my family and I should spend our money on beer.Watched this movie here BigOnlineMovies . c o m

  • Nice movie :)

I was in the US for some time, and i got the impression that they did not know shit about beer XD FFS who adds lemon to a beer? thats like Pepsi twist beer edition -.-

But this movie convinced me otherwise :) Seems like America has an interresting beer culture which i should be looking into :)

  • After I watched this movie, I've never looked at beer the same way as I did before.

  • HELL YES!!! I am a soldier in the war to promote quality beer in this world!!!!! Movies like this are a great weapon!!!

  • oh yeah dude it all about some good water and dank hops

  • woop! My hero Sam Calagione!

  • Dont forget the geat vikings of Denmark the sure as hell know how to drink beer. ;D

  • Lol USA and Land of Beer? you guys gotta be kidding....

True land of Beer: Bavaria :D

  • spoken from someone who has obviously never sampled any craft brews offered in the USA.

but I guess if I had to give a country the label "land of beer" it would be Belgium.

  • Nope, i'm sorry. to be honest I am Bavarian ;) And all I can say that you can't find better tasting beer then the bavarian one. I've already tried stuff like....Budweiser or so on....but in my opinion it just sucked compardes to the bavarian beer. Taste Augustiner oder Paulaner....you're gonna feel the difference.

  • Budweiser is complete shit and it saddens me that that is what people think about when they think 'American beer'. I've had Paulaner before (their Hefeweissen) and it is some seriously tasty stuff.

if you can find it, try anything from Stone Brewing, or Rouge. those are probably the only ones you may even have a chance at finding over there. but still it would probably be really hard to.

anyway, enjoy your beer. one of these days I'll have to get over there to try some myself.

  • Yeah, see you in Bavaria :D and bring some of the good american stuff with you^^

  • you are a fvcking idiot. i enjoy paulaner; however, for every paulaner style there is, i can find you 10 american beers that rape that shit.

  • Never. Seriously. Never. I can't think of anything better than it. Maybe i'm wrong, but i'm in love with Paulaner. :D

  • those americans think they invented everything :x the best beers in USA are the IMPORTED ones, from...europe!

germany (bavaria) and ireland have great beers! (so does Portugal - Super Bock :P)

  • Rofl^^ kinda feels like xD

But really.....I can't think of better beer than Augustiner Edelstoff from Bavaria :D Or Löwenbräu...just owns

  • bullshit! Yes European countries make some great beers but I think you are forgetting about all the small breweries in the US. We have some great beers. Take a trip to Portland, Oregon where we the most micro breweries per capita in the world!

  • Support your local brewers...

  • mmmmm i love beer

  • Canadian beer ftw

  • Land of the beer

    Don't make me laugh

Belgium produces 90% of all the beers types (+ Inbev = Belgian -> now also Anheuser-Busch) in the world

Czech Republic drinks by average twice as much as USA (160 vs 80/90 litre per person)

    and last but not least:

Belgians and Czechs (as many other europeans) can drink from the age of 16, how can americans be beer pro's if they only start drinking it at the age of 21

    LOSERS

  • dutch teenagers drink the most beer in the world

  • If you are a fan of beer, you have to give credit to the USA for pushing the boundaries of beer. Show me a Czech or Belgian IIPA, Russian Imperial Stout, or Barleywine that can rival the quality that we have here. I'm waiting for your reply.

  • because barleywine, or Russian Imperial don't exist in Europe. we don't have traditions of those beers, especially Russian Imperial stout is a modern day reinvention, i wonder if that beer ever existed in the first place. If it did, list it with the Tzar's excesses and extravagances we don't know about :P

Beer production evolves with time and its consumers.

90% of beer everywhere is urine, fancy brews are simply expensive, local and cannot be mass produced.

  • The barley wine originated in England as well as the Imperial stout. There are also imperial stouts being produced in Belgium today (see Catherine the Great). I was just trying to point out that there is fantastic beer being produced all around the world and not one region can claim dominance. Maybe some more than others, but we all contribute to the greater good.

  • hey dipshit, these are the only points you made

90% of the shitty beer comes from belgium

czech republic is full of alcoholics

pull the dick out of your ass and drink real beer

  • lol just about everything you just said is fucking bullshit :p

  • i was exaggerating the previous poster's comment. name a beer you like and i'll name an american beer that fvcks your mom.

  • maybe I sound like neo prohibitionist but I don`t care if it`s right to do so.

    Good luck home brews!

  • I just watched the whole movie & I`m a bit mad because of the story behind the simple beer (not so simple and trivial like I thought) so there`re a few conclusion a have in mind:

-the more knowledge you got the better for everyone!

-I like to know what I drink, eat etc, so there is need for exploring the market especially towards corporations

-Always and always corporations (along with government) stand behind the bad taste (in this case the beer :) meaningles exploitation of earth etc.

  • micro brews ftw.

  • This is such propaganda! Why is Jim Koch talking about his products when everyone knows that most of the Sam Adams line is contract brewed by Miller. In addition, he is one of the largest brewers in the country. I personally like a lot of different styles of beer, and I think it is up to the consumer as to what they drink. You can't sit here and tell me that every micro brew out there would not like to sell more of their product! The elitist attitudes will destroy the craft beer movement.

  • If you run a craft brewery and a bigger brewery wants to buy and sell your stuff why WOULDNT you go for it? Its illogical not to want to make more money. HOWEVER, if the caveat of such a deal is that you lose creative control and/or ownership of your product then that is indeed selling out.

I find it difficult to believe that Miller told Jim Koch well brew your beer for you but were going to do it OUR way since we know whats better for Samuel Adams and its customers than YOU do.

  • Sometimes It's not always about the money. It's about making a product for your customer and doing it your way, without the market, and media seizing control of everything. Good homestyle beer.

  • Amen to that

  • Drink what you like... if you happen to enjoy flavorless corn-piss, then keep beer-bonging it. I will enjoy good beer. This doesn't make me a yuppy, just someone who enjoys quality beer.

  • Lol at "i will enjoy good beer". Way to be a snobbish tard. Just because you say "Drink what you like" doesnt mean you get a free pass at being an idiot.

Lets just criticize anyone who doesnt drink westvleteren, listen to classical music or eats caviar on the daily basis shall we?

Seriously, i hate Macro lagers, but idiots like you make beer enthusiasts look bad.

  • you make yourself look bad.

  • Way to drink the cool aid.

  • You are so right, and cool. I guess that makes you a better "beer enthusiast", and pathetic for letting something like this work you up.

  • Hey people support local beer makers or you might loose them forever! Life is to short for cheap beer.

  • wow cant wait for this...theaters nation wide? or like manhattan

  • HAHA!!! i think they're trying to tell us something at 1:22 lol

  • Sláinte!

  • WOW!!!!!! What a concept.,Being able to go out to an ale bar at night and actually get a seat, some elbow room and nut space to actually taste and enjoy your pub drafts. You sure as hell can't do that in San Fran as of lately. All the yuppies are taking up space at the good beer just because it's popular in the fucking news. They wouldn't be caught with a pint of Sierra Nevada around this time last year.

  • i full heartedly agree... la trappe, toronado, rogue, they are all getting too crowded with yuppie hipsters that think it's "trendy" to have a micro brew. pisses me off a bit, but i'm happy for the breweries.

  • Are there any other beer lovers out there besides me that think this movie looks horrible. The message was sent in American Beer. This looks like it's all about death to the Big 3.

  • Yeah, it looks like a flat good guys vs. evil corporate stiffs movie. Some story. *yawn*

  • We support the initiative for more FLAVORFUL BEER! C'mon America... expand your minds.... reach out beyond the MACRO, tasteless, fizzy lagers and explore the wide world of CRAFT BEER. Don't be sucked in by the advertising of the MACRO BEER GIANTS.... they are telling you what to drink. America was built on REBELLION! Be a REBEL.... try CRAFT BEER!

  • you are just as bad as the big guys!

  • I can't wait to see the movie.

  • Looks cool. Let this be another nail in the coffin of the macros.

  • It's so nice to see Beer Wars out there. Way to go Anat. It looks great.
