  • i love fox body stangs i have 3 my self and this video is what i dream of having one day. there only two question i keep on asking What kind of block can hold this much hp and why does it lunch so smooth with out a wheelie stand?

  • @Elkarateka3 Turbos, thats why it launches so smoothly and why almost all fast drag Radial cars are running turbos. Supercharges and nitrous deliver all their power instantly at launch, so you are much more likely to shred your tires off the line, Turbos take a couple hundred feet to get to peak output and when your in the groove of the track and accelerating as hard as him you are much less likely to spin your tires once full boost hits around 200-300 feet.

  • @bigbobkropp That is true of positive displacement blowers. Centrifugal blowers build boost as RPM increases. Much more peaky like a turbo.

  • @bigbobkropp that all depends on how you drive your car, you can get a supercharged car to pull smoothly, you just have to know what your doing. and turbos can reach peak boost quicker than that, i've seen them max out after the first 20 feet, its all about building boost before you launch. turbos require timing, superchargers require finesse.

  • @3000gtvr45Lebtt Any kind of car is going to require large amounts of finesse at this level of drag racing. You arent going to be able to build more than a few pounds of boost with these cars while staging, the turbos are just too big. A good 6 second turbo car will be running two 105 mm turbos and i dont care how big your engine is, you wont be spooling those turbos unless your engine is under full load. And you wouldnt want to anyway. Those tires wont be able to put down 3500 hp at launch.

  • @bigbobkropp i dunno man, i've seen quiet a few drag cars reach max boost at the starting line, especially when you launch it, cuz it goes from half throttle to full throttle, the engine starts spitting out more exaughst fumes, intern spooling the turbo faster, creating more boost. if the tires can't take the power then feather the clutch, since its probably a trailer queen the clutch is the least of your worries.

  • @3000gtvr45Lebtt There is no clutch pedal on these cars. They are almost always two or three speed automatics. A manual is too slow at this level of competition. Everything is done with engine tuning. And full throttle means nothing unless the engine is under load with turbos of this size. Everything is done with engine tuning and suspension. You cant shock the tires with that much power, it just wont hook until the car is moving good and has transferred its weight to the rear suspension

  • I must be missing something. I know all about Ford : GM rivalry, happens a lot here in Australia too. What I don't get, is that the whole object of this post / clip - as I understand it, is about the performance of the drag radial tyres. You guys have hijacked it into some stupid Ford v GM thing. 129 comments, and not one of them is about the damn tyres. WTF?

  • Only reason people go with chevy is becuase its cheap! Im a ford guy and i cant get a forged internal 351 for the price i can get a forged internal chevy 350. I still wont get a chevy motor though ;) Ive seen kids saying certain mustangs have chevy motors on here on youtube but When they show under the hood or if you go look at the specs on the car its all 100% ford. Talk about being jealous of ford power.

  • Where are the chevy guys now?fords do this without tube chassis and fuul interior.I used to hate them because everyone in my town had one,but when I learned about cars I realized they have more bang for buck than any car in the world.chevy only has a V8 because Ford gave it to them.

  • Cheers to David Hance, that car flys! I dunno tho to the guys in the ford bowtie battle.... Jason Scruggs holds records in a chevy. Given it's Hemi powered it's still a car based off of a corvette frame and body. Tim Lynch holds several records in a ford. Really I guess it's how deep your pockets can go. Cause Tim Lynch has gone to Chevy power and we all know the numbers he's capable of turning. So we'll see soon enough.

  • big shunn, this nova guy dont understand. boost this and chevy that, listen, do some homework on ford and chevy. the companion cylinders are the same on both, same firing order, the banks are numbered differently. chevy exhaust ports flow better than ford, ford intakes flow better than chevy. its all setup really. engines are air pumps my man, thats all. i have a decent setup in my 89 gt fox. man o war small block, afr heads, 80 mm turbo, air to air, 410's, strange rear, n 4 digit horsepower:)

  • LOL size doesnt always make the difference it has to do with the type of components your useing and how good you can tune it ,once you actualy have a race car then you will know about HP and Torque.

  • the distributor on Dave Hances motor is in the back, so uh its a Chevy, still don't believe me then look in RPM magazine ,and Lynch switch to a 670ci motor but its a custom built motor its nether a Chevy or a Ford, just look at proline's website.
