  • if they had decided to go with the pussy option.... would she have volunteered to spread her legs for the people?

  • And the guillotine ate her

  • who else kinda wanted the pussy thing?

i hear cats taste pretty good with BBQ sauce

  • she never actually said let them eat cake that is historically incorrect.

  • Cake wasn't cake as we know it now. It was the stuff at the back of the ovens that are there after the bread is baked. Also she didn't say that line.

BUT!!! She (and her family) were still very detached from reality and from the people. Also this clip did make me laugh.

  • nice quality

  • killer queen

  • What happened to 0:20 ??

  • God, people, she never said that...

  • Oh lighten up!

  • It's funny because she never acctually said that

  • The cake is a lie

  • Let them eat an arrow in the knee

  • Now fucking dislike that, please.

  • I like how people are taking up for her saying "omg she never said that". The point was that she was so out of touch with the nation she was supposedly governing that she didnt know they were starving.

  • @bigbadmac82 I think we now know who Euphemia Li is based on.

  • @bigbadmac82 "It is quite certain that in seeing the people who treat us so well despite their own misfortune, we are more obliged than ever to work hard for their happiness. The King seems to understand this truth." ~Marie Antoinette~

French law at the time required french bakers to sell Brioche or 'Cake' at the same price as bread if they ran out of the latter, this was instituted by the nobility to keep the bakeries from only selling high end pastries to the aristocracy.

  • @bigbadmac82 Marie Antoinette is portrayed this way mostly because she happened to be queen when the Revolution took place. It would have taken place with or without her. However, she did know of the circumstances of her ppl and if you read up on her, she was a very charitable person. She fed & housed many needy ppl, raised 3 poor children as her own, paid for the education of poor children, sold her family's flatware to buy grain for the needy along w/ eating cheap bread to give even more, etc

  • @thewickedfae bullshit, she just wasted money on clothes and fucked alot, that's why the people got rid of her

  • @OZDE32 Everything I said was a fact. Not saying she was a saint just that she did a lot more than most nobles of her time and never outright ignored the problem as portrayed. You have to view ppl within their own time period and society. She wasn't evil. The Revolution was very complex. Wasn't simply some peasant uprising against sadistic rich ppl. The middle class had more to do w/ its fruition actually. And some of people who led the Revolution had their heads chopped off after it... Complex.

  • NO

    THE CAKE IS A LIE

    let them eat pussy

    -giggity

  • Finally some sophistication on youtube. A lot of the more senior French revolutionaries didn't want to kill her or Louis the 16th. But they ran from the castle, were caught by some hardcores, kangaroo courted and beheaded.

  • She never said that, actually.

  • @Miscillaniou even if she didn't, this is a parody cartoon, not much is supposed to be facts

  • i'm named after her.

  • SHE NEVER SAID THAT!

  • @sophsincolour your right he said the first one lol

  • I dont get this one

  • @bomenjan Your not smart then

  • Noticed that she's a lefty?

  • @Cartoonfangirl007 yeah, cause lefties are awesome!!!

  • pussy? lol

  • And then there will be cake.

  • cake in france back then was a dry tasteless shit not related to the cake of today so its like she told the poor people to pretty much eat shit and die

  • The cake is a lie! You cant eat lies xD

  • What kind of cake ?

  • @alinka2111 the lieing kind

  • :)

  • During the revolution of france, the citisens demonstreted to get bread. But the queen Marie Antoanette said "Let them have kake instead." It was that they was making fun off in this clip.

  • @Rooks35PB You should write your comments in a Word document. It has spell-check

  • @Rooks35PB The video spelled it our for you. KAKE=/= Cake

Shit. How can you make a mistake in a word so tiny?

  • @BubblesXplode "Out," not our.

Shit. How can you make a mistake in a word so tiny?

  • @njriv If you look down at your keyboard you'll see it's a typo. Lol some internet badass xD

  • What episode was this in? Whatever it was, it got cut, of course.

  • Julius Caesar said "Et tu, Brute?"* when Brutus and other senators stabbed him

Et tu, Brute?: And you, Brutus?

  • who is this woman?

  • @Bobobranden Marie Antoinette was King Louis XVI's wife. They were the king and queen of France, but were beheaded during the French Revolution. Marie Antoinette was talking about the peasant revolts that had been happening and convinced her husband that it was nothing to be concerned about. I had to do a project on her and Louis.

  • haaaaaa she didnt' actually say that

  • Is it too much to ask for option 2 and 3?

  • Her head got chopped off.....yeah

  • goddamnit, now i'm gonna end up wasting twenty minutes looking for skulrath's comment

  • @CrescentHeart3 Go to 'see all the comments' press f3, type "skulrath". There

  • Can ya'll quit saying "I'd pick #2" Like 5 people said i already.

  • i liked option #2 the most.

  • She was actually only 11 when she made that quote also very sheltered from the outside world and in a foreign country.

People just like to have someone to blame for one of the worst periods in french history and why not the pretty, dumb, rich girl?

  • @Mysterey101 "Let them eat cake" was said 100 years before her by Marie-Thérèse, the wife of Louis XIV, wiki it bro

  • @The1dragonsman cool story bro

  • @Mysterey101 best story ever bro

  • I like #2 :-)

  • For all the Rush fans out there, could you imagine if Geddy said " let them eat pussy" or "Let them eat shit" on the Bastile Day song...

    I can XD

  • NO

    THE CAKE IS A LIE

  • @KATT718 The pussy is a lie. Marie is GLaDOS and GLaDOS has no pussy. :D

  • @KATT718 CAKE IS NOT A LIE! Lol anyone who played Alice: Madness Returns understands me.

  • To everybody who fills up my inbox with replies to what I said, please read it again. I never said that she uttered that phrase. I said that that was her mindset on the matter.

  • she's left handed, oddly though she's not creative

  • Don't think let them eat pussy would have gone over to well either.

  • Wait, so "cake" around that time was a swear?

  • @luigifan8282 ahh fuck. I knew someone was going to make that damn reference.

  • Cake = Pussy, it's yummy

  • She's left handed.....cool

  • @luigifan8282 Nope. it's just Chuck Testa

  • Am I the only one who figured if she went with the second line history would have been kinder to her? :P

  • Hey,good advice from a french guy:stop debating on XIIX century's history.Political truth was almost as unaccurate as today.

  • I thought when she meant CAKE she meant stuff from an oven that was all "caked up" in the ovens?

  • They make her look like that freak Lady Gaga

  • Hilarious!

  • She didn't say "Let them eat cake." When 7,000 women marched to Versailles, demanding bread/ingredients for bread (it was a staple and part of their livelihood in especially poor families, and of course, the price for it was too high because of the poor economy), Marie went out to her balcony and said "Let them eat bread." The cake line was propaganda written against her.

  • @vickimist Actually, back then, the word that now means "cake" actually meant "bread".

  • R.I.P Headphones users

  • I wouldn't mind the 2nd one.[=)

  • Truth is she probably never said this.

  • The "cake" back in the time meant some bread crumps stuck on oven and pot after cooking proper breads. So Antoinette was just trying to have her altruism.

  • She didn't actually say that exactly. She may have said something like that but she never said, "Let them eat cake"

  • @guitarguy2596 She didn't say it at all, read my comment below.

  • @luigifan8282 all hail the happy fluffy pink cup cake of redundant happiness!

  • If no one else pointed this out, how do you get straight lines from scribbling?

  • @TenniTeam It can be done, if you scribble back and forward on the line :)

  • @TenniTeam not just that but how do you get horizontal lines from writing up and down on a page!?!

  • @TenniTeam ...Did you not realize how she crossed out each phrase after she scribbled them down? Dumbass.

  • @CAC701D She did not cross them out, dumbass! She scribbled them out! God...

  • @TenniTeam Nope.

  • @TenniTeam It must have been a striped paper.

  • @TenniTeam Scribling back and forth?

  • I prefer the second one

  • Is it just me or would number 2 have been acceptable as well?

  • She scratches so much to write one line through her work...

  • lie everyone historian know thats marie never said let them eat cake

  • @doctorben1507

thats because she was queen of france

  • R.I.P Headphone users

  • @luigifan8282

    THATS ME

  • She was the consort, completely powerless. Only Louis XVI had the power to do anything, but he was not a good king. Not a bad man, but he sucked at his job, unlike his great great great grandfather Louis XIV.

  • i liked the second one

  • hahaha It's a funny sarcasm, but behind it there's a very cruel story.

  • I...I don't get it

  • @luigifan07 What don't you get the joke or who she is?

  • "Let them Eat Cake"

Unfortunately, the Cake is a Lie

  • i like the seconed one lol

  • wtf why would it be in english?

  • @AwesomeExploder

    Qu'ils mangent de la merde

    Qu'Ils mangent de la chatte

    Qu'ils mangent de la brioche

    There! Are you happy, now?

  • NO, THE CAKE IS A LIE

  • Those are very straight lines for such dramatic scribbles.

  • my teacher showed us this expecting that there wouldnt be anything bad... turns out she was wrong

  • i dont understand this joke! can anyone explain me this? :o

  • @BadBlueBoy213 there's a biographist who wrote marie antoinette biography a long time ago and according to him when some people from the palace told marie antoinette that her people were starving she supposedly said: "let them eat cake" because in her palace gab es so much. like her leftovers.

but thats proven not to be true

  • @BadBlueBoy213 people were starving.. they told mary antoinette that there was no bread to eat.. so she replied "let them eat cake"

  • @koosa619 Or at least that was how the "boulevard press" of that time pictured her. The people needed someone to hate.

  • @BadBlueBoy213 Ignore the others; the truth is different to what most believe. In France at that time bakers would sell out of bread and the poor would have nothing to eat. Marie Antoinette passed a law requiring that bakers who sell out of bread sell cake and other luxury foods at the same price. This way the poor could still get food even with a shortage of bread. It was a very good thing she did and not tyrannical like so many believe.

  • @aleronstube Actually, Marie Antoinette most likely never uttered those words in the first place, because she didn't know (or most likely care) enough to realize what was going on outside the castle walls. And how could she? She never left, and it wasn't her place to say anything about the situation anyway, even if she was made aware.

  • @puppetmaster569 That is true, it has been said that these words are fictional. Whatever the case, my point on the bakery is still true. They did pass a law to ‘let them eat cake’ for a good reason, so the quote is out of context.

  • lol, it is nonsense but I still love it XD

  • oww my ears just got fucked, I was using headphones x_x

  • @newchiuahua

I am referring to the 2006 movie. Haven't seen the 1938 one.

  • Bitch better me making my damn cake

  • did anyone else get random shivers at the scratching sound?

  • WTF? this is awesome

  • I would have preferred pussy instead of cake.

  • Actually Antoinette didn't really say let them eat cake I believe the the Rumors Said it for the the First Time its just for the FYI

  • It''s just a joke. It doesn't matter if she really said it or not.

  • @orlando098 well the JOKE ISN'T FUNNY IF ITS NOT BASED ON FACT! *SLAMS HEAD ON KEYBOARD AND ROLLS DOWN THE STAIRS SCREAMING*

  • Marie Antionette said 'why don' they eat brioche?'. Even then its thought that the let them eat cake line was from a french writers auto-biography. This man(I've forgotten his name) wrote this either 17 or 27 years before maire antionette was born. Also Skulrath makes a valid point, all her life she was told what to do, her marriage was pre-aranged and very few aristocrats knew the conditions the poor were living in.

  • So Marie Antoinette is left handed?

  • Did the scratching noise annoy anyone else?

  • even if she never said that, there's no smoke without fire... i'm sure the mentality in versailles was pretty much like that

  • CAKE IS A LIE :D

  • She said "Let them have buns."

  • Everybody who believes that she never said it.. well how would you possibly know that? What if she did say it =O

  • i wouldn't be surprised if she actualy said that....

  • The cake is a lie

  • I am offensive and I find this to be sh*t

  • MY LINE!

  • that came from a QUEEN song called KILLER QUEEN

  • She didnt even dip it in ink LOL

  • That was not at all funny... seriously. Thumbs down

  • LOLOL my friend told me that her history teacher accidentally showed her class this video & the whole class was just like dead xD

  • Ima pussyeater. Give me your pussy. I'll suck it dry... ((|))

  • awwwwwwww i wanna eat pussy.

    jk

  • Yaaaaaay cake

  • 2nd option would have gone over well in my opinion!

  • xD let them eay shit

  • im casting my vote for 2

  • I like the part when she said Let them eat pussy. :D

  • Second option.

  • Next notepad:

"Today, I went to the future and discovered they are going to make a horrible movie based on my life..."

  • @Quigster23 Are you referring to the 1938 movie or the 2006 movie?

  • I read somewhere this phrase was actually said by Madame du Pompadour, who was a mistress in the court of Versailles. Not by Marie Antoinette.

  • @starlightshimmers doctor who

  • i dont get it

  • @bravoameliabedelia Then maybe your to young to watch this, but anyway, it means that she was going to be rude and say let them eat shit and let them eat pussy, instead of her famous saying let them eat cake

  • If she had gone with "pussy", she wouldn't have been beheaded...

  • @johncisney15 nope they still would have done it, she was austrian, the pussy aint that good

  • In soviet Russia, ( and the movie Teeth ) pussy eat you.

  • Let them eat pussy...as long as I don't get an infection. lol.

  • the cake is a lie is a lie

  • i would not mind eating pussy

  • mmmmmm let them eat pussy...mmm XD

  • Fuck, I'm such a nerd. All I can really focus on is her writing. It should be in calligraphy, but then again, if it was people wouldn't be able to read it.

  • @kagome121 theres no shame in being a nerd.

  • YAY FOR THE SECOND OPTION!

  • let them eat pussy was okay!

  • i would have preferred number 2^^
