  • Islamic prayer with a Christian cathedral beholding a Christian cross on top of it, surrounded by 6 minarets? How ironic and how sad Turkish history is. Muslims, they are savages they will invade your land, destroy your church and use the same stones to built a mosque. Sometimes they get lazy and leave the church foundation then put a minaret beside it and call it a mosque, then claim they built it and their history is glorious.

  • @DelijaIzKrajine 1. Be happy that they didn't burn everything down. (unlike christians did that with mosque's)

    2. "Islamic prayer with a Christian cathedral beholding a Christian cross on top of it, surrounded by 6 minarets"

FAIL. That is the Sultanahmet Mosque. It doesn't have a cross on top of it.

    3. They don't claim they built the Hagia Sophia. They claim they added things.

    4. Get your facts straight son.

  • Not "evening" prayer, its seems like "ikindi" (at 15:00 - 17:00 hours)

  • One day Hagia Sophia will once again behold Christian liturgy!

  • @Gunnarr123abc hahaha

  • @whiteymcwhiters

You should look at a couple of documentories of the Byzantine Empire and find out were christianity came from.

    Are you a mongolturd?

It sounds like you are because your comments are so retarded that they make me laugh..

You must also be very young, thats why i forgive you for being dumb. You know nothing else.

    Later fool

  • @whiteymcwhiters You really are dumb.

Agia is a Greek word meaning Saint.

    Sophia is another Greek word.

    Byzantine is another Greek word.

When the Mongol Turks over took Constantineople, They took over the Greeks in a very Coward like manner.

Agia Sophia was built by Greeks and no one else.

That was the pride of the Mongolo turks to take over the Greeks untill the Hellenes chased them out!!!

You seriously need to learn history before you start writing crap you know nothing about.

  • Someone shoot that idiot yelling out 5 times a day. How revolting to hear that. Agia Sophia would be weeping with that filthy cult Islamic calling.

Why would the Turks copy the agia Sophia? Is it because they're jealous of Greek architecture or because they have no imagination for architecture?

    The blue mosque!!!! How retarded!!!!!

  • Is the Hagia Sophia a Museum now or still a Mosque? I don't think it should be one since I mean it belonged to the Byzantine Christians and is such a beautiful work of art, it should be preserved for all worshipers.

  • Mashallah!

Whats the name of the muezzin calling to prayer at 0:10-0:31

It sounds wonderful just like how the ottomans would have read!

  • What's with all the haters on these posts?

Raised in a Christian society I still found the call to prayer beautiful.

People should take an example from Istanbul when it comes to having secular and religous life (all kinds) exist side by side.

For me Hagia Sophia is a symbol af that.

  • wow you used a museum once a church built by christians in your shitty muslim video.

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 You'll regret this day =) When you will be in utmost wrong

  • @xXNorthWeapon74Xx built as a church occupied by muslims now a museum. church it WILL be again

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 No, it is nice as it is protected by the muslims!

  • i was in turkey when i heard and i thought it was nice even though i hate any organised religion

  • I was in Istanbul once, and then I heard it, it was so beautiful...

  • The amazing beauty of this town amazes me ever and ever again. I was so lucky that I copuld be there last fall. It was so nice. The prayers in the morning had something exotic .. I would love to hear them here in germany. They are so much better then this fucking church bells.

  • @TiltschMaster dirty pedo worshipping pig! You make me sick!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 Ah .. and where is the sense of your bullshit sentence?^^

  • @TiltschMaster Theres beauty in everything troll

  • What you say is completely nothing and your iq is lower than the temperature of Alaska.when greeks were creating history, mongol Turks were still leaving in caves bananas.then they became thieves and stole Greek land.wake up!

  • @aekman212000 one day our turkısh athena wıll be turkısh cıty agaınwaıt and see

  • agia sofia is a holy christian orthodox place you muslims dissacred!!!! curse u!!!

  • correction, its called conquest. just as christians conquered central and south america.

  • thts true, but muslims cinquerd northern africa.... and southeast asia.....

  • our Prophet Mohammed Peace be upon Him predicted That Muslims Will conquer Constantinople and that Happened 600 years Later He also Said that Islam Will Conquer Rome and we are waiting that. These are the signs of the coming of judgment day.God knows.

  • dude do YOU believe that islam will ever conquer rome??? i tell you: A FUCK will you conquer.... and dude.... look how old islam is how old christianity and how old buddism is.... also compare those three religions... you will see that all of them have similarities. what do we know about mohammed.... he was a trader-merchant who did exchanges with constantinople he got religious ideas from them and made a religion he named islam... dude no other religion is so brutal, i would rather turn gay!!!

  • Much like the Mosque in Cordoba became a Catholic church after the Spanish reconquest. People recognize beauty and preserve it. Lets not be ignorant.

Pretty much every civilization has been brutal to its perceived enemies while offering great contributions to the world in certain areas.

  • @rsjoni89 :D it was christian place until Mehmet II conquered Istanbul. It's like the churchs in Bosnia, whcih were mosques some years ago ;)

  • Arabian Knights stormed out of the desert to spread ALLAH's Words, and the world was ruled by MUSLIMS.

The Ottoman Turks were later given the Islamic Flag to be waived, and again the world was ruled by MUSLIMS.

Peace be to Arab world & Turkic world.

    Peace be to Islamic world.

Ignore the past & nationalists. Look ahead.

    Victory is coming.

The Mahdi will be in Mecca & Istanbul.

    Long live Islam.

    MUSLIMS FOREVER

  • fuck you fanatic muslim,,peace of shite

  • He was the Greatest Greek (Hellenas) EVER.

An his name: ALEXANDER THE GREAT, THE KING OF MACEDONIA...THE SON OF PHILIPPOS.

  • MashAllah

I know much of Istanbul is Byzantine but the Ottomans were highly cultured (although a bit ruthless).

  • the ottomans cultured???ahahaha...only butchers

Constantinople is Greek, and will be returned soon

  • erm... its kinda hard to refute that Ottoman art was beautiful, their buildings stunning, food delicious or their poetry, sublime. When was Istanbul ever Greek. Do you refer to the Byzantines?

  • Have u came from another planet perhaps?Even the names are Greek(Constantinople,Hagia Sofia,Marmaras,Smyrni,Efessos,Andrianoupoli, etc)Byzantines were Greek

  • Following that reasoning, surely the Greeks took Constantinople from the Romans?...

  • Of course not because Constantinople was a part of ancient Greece, sucj as Middle Asia, that's why there are so many ancient monuments there.Greeks created civilisation, arts, philosophy, democracy, freedom and voting.

  • It is a shame for turks to gain money from sightseeings such as St Sofia that don't belong to them. Are u proud of that?

  • Go to wikepedia, write istanbul and read who first established there in 667 and which was its real name.

  • get over it: the Turks came, they saw, they whooped Byzantine ass. It was over half a millenium ago.

  • No, the Byzantines were Butchers. They just got what they deserved

  • Byzantine Empire, such as the empire of Alexander the Great were famous for cultures, arts and basic values of today.ottoman "empire"were famous for blood, rapes, violence and brutalities

  • If their was any butcher in history, Alexander the Great takes the cake.

He marched his Macedonian Army though the Balkans, India, and the Middle East.

    Including my home, Gaza.

17 WARS in All crossing 3 continents. "Values"

And the Ottomans were the richest empire of their time, so naturally, they had all the best artisans, engineers, architects, etc.

  • Alexander the Great butcher?ahahahahaha..you are pathetic and retarded.I kow that it is a shame to be ottoman but i couldn't imagine the size....HagiA Shopia is ottoman?

  • I never said the Hagia Sophia was Ottoman, so don't put words in my mouth.

And yes, Alexander the Great was a Butcher, and that is precisely what made him "great"

  • So how can you be proud of gaining money from something that is not yours?

Open a book and read some history about Alexander the Great,or ask an Egyptian

  • 1. Ask the British or the Americans

    2. I did open a book, and DID read about Alexander the great. Obviously you have NOT

  • Obviously you wouldn't have done anything without the "help" of usa and england.Glad you admit that.

Alexander was a hero, your books is turkish propaganda

  • Alexander brought civilisation whereever he went that is why he is still honoured in Alexandria/Egypt, Pakistan etc. YOU ARE AN IGNORANT FOOL!

  • You call Alexander a butcher but you have to know that you owe your culture to him. He made Greek culture known to he rest of the world. sciences as philosophy, maths, geography, geometry, medical and many many more are known to you because of a butcher like him.

  • Time for a history lesson, apparently.

Alexander the Great was Macedonian, and that he was -barely-.

You know how the word "Byzantine" is used? It's an adjective for anything under-handed, done in secrecy, done hastilly, or resulting in a mysterious death. Care to know why? Because that's how the Byzantines operated.

  • the other point here: love mankind. Hating others is only hatred of the self.

  • Of course and he was Makedonian.Makedonia was a kingdom in Ancient Greece, such as Athens,Sparta,Ipiros and Thessalia.Byzantines had a great empire, widely spread an famous for its culture.Read some history...

  • @aekman212000 .........im not here to argue but i was just passing with your words...how can you blame turkish for gaining money from things they dont own and in the same time you dont blame your USA and your ENGLAND for the egyptian antiquities they have by hundreds in their museums or you think that they make it? and the Obelisks all over europ and america you think that you raised it? ....there must be defined benchmarks ...not just talking

  • @lorence72 who talked about obelisks?first of all obelisks are not ancient monuments.I'm referring to the ancient monuments in Efessos,Smyrni, kapadokkia, and Constantinople, monuments that ancien Greeks created.Your england has the ancient marbles of Parthenon, open a book first and then talk

  • @aekman212000 first of all i didnt talked about just the obelisks ...second ....you must open a book not me because you are pathetic and mentally retarded and you dont know even what you are saying

  • oh really? and the ottomans were not butchers ha? SO WHY DID YOU ARAB MUSLIMS BACKSTABBED THE CIVIL OTTOMANS AND KICKED THEM OUT OF UR LANDS??????? Ezzedeen you are fool

  • @aekman212000 nothıng ıs greek ıdıot macedonıa ısnt greek epırus ısnt greekı istanbul ın thrace thr cıans arent greek ,,,byzantınes are butcher of the hıstory fuck your bloody alexandros

  • ALLAHU AKBAR

  • ALLAHU AKBAR

  • na its true aya sophia (hagia sophia in greek) translates to holy wisdom of god was built by the byzantine greeks. altho thought to be the original by many it was rebuilt 3 times after fires and riots in costantinople. when the ottoman turks took over they converted haya sophia from the worlds biggest greek orthodox cathedral into a mosque and added minarets. ever since then it was a mosque until now because it is a museum

  • is Hagia Sophia a mosque????

  • First it was a churche now a mosque..They use it as a museum

  • No, it was first a Church, then it was converted to a mosque, with plastering over the pictures of mary/jesus. Then it was converted into a museum, and the plaster taken away to show the beautifull hidden artwork.

  • allahim yarrabi ya

    susun lütfen ve ezana dinleyin

  • MashAllah! This is a beautiful Religion!

  • both of them where churchs

  • blue mosque was never a church

  • i mean blue mosque was built by ottomans

  • ı am sure you dont know real islam,if u know ,u can change ur idae.ı think u must read quraan that justice all people in the world.

  • Not entirely correct. The Hagia Sofia was a Church, and now is a museum. The Blue Mosque was built entirely by the Ottomans, partially to outdo the Aya Sofia, it wasn't even built until the 17th century, 200 years after Mehmet took Constantinople.

  • man i hate the guys who say fuck islam fuck turks wtf ur jealous orsom omg stfu i cand stand u guys like ur better fu why we pigs dont involve to it let teh greeks heandle it lets fight heh? dammit in 1 min greece isnt anymore stfu assholes

  • Not quite, the Ottomans called it Kostaniyye from 1453 onwards(the Arabo-Perso-Turkish-Islamic name for Constantinople) for centuries. And Istanbul comes from the Greek Eis Stin Polis . And genetic wise,Modern day Turks look Greek not Asian ! At the same time the Rum(the Greeks) and the Muslims(modern day Turks) are very much alike except for the religion. You might have a Greek great grandmother just like a lot of the Sultans did! Christians and Muslims should have a prayer room together.

  • I agree with you, but that is the same throughout the middle-east. I have no clue were all this hatred came from - but i guess political.

And you cannot base genotype on any phenotypic features - especially how they look like. To be honest, Greeks and Turks also look very similar to Arabs, and Italians and Spaniards and Kurds and even Persians. That does not necessarily mean we are one people, that is for genetics to decide ;)

  • I agree i mean first a church than a Mosque and now a museum....i visited it yesterday :)

  • Nice - wanted to go there last month when I was there, but the queue was way too long, and i was only in Turkey for a few hours.

Bought loads of souvineers like a fez, a nazar eye (I thought only us Arabs believe in that lol).

Hopefully I might either back to Turkey or Italy this Xmas - depending on which one is cheaper/better nightlife. TC

  • i've been to Italy and Turkey, Italy several times and I much prefer Turkey. The people are nicer, the food better and the sights more breathtaking (i know Roman sites are more significant, but nothing in Italy beats adhan from the Blue mosque)

  • I'm really glad you enjoyed Turkey, however, that is probably just the case with a western/white tourist. I myself am Arab, and despite not knowing a word of Turkish look a lot like them. Consiquently, the treatment I recieved, despite being a tourist myself, is shamefully substandard to that recieved by other tourists.

Rude treatment from shopkeepers, and despite being first in the queue, the often serve other tourists behind me first, continued...

  • cont: being lectured at bars why I shouldn't drink alcohol by staff while theyserve other tourists freely, being given bad tables at restaurants etc...

All these made me now promise never to never visit that land of monkies who haggle and beg tourists to buy guides with no dignity ever again. People in places like Italy are so much more open-minded, dignified and franly intelligent.

By I guess we all have different experiences and preferances.

  • Goose, there is a genetic link. The Yeni Cheri(Janissaries ) were taken from Christian families. The Sultan's wives were mostly Chritian European women. Christian people were forcibly or voluntarily converted to Islam during the Ottoman Empire. That is the genetic reason why GReeks and Turks look alike. MY mother is Greek and many people mistake her for Polish or Rusiian as she is very pale and very light eyed. My grandpa was from Izmir BTW, so we know Turkish history very well within my family.

  • be polite!

  • I miss Istanbul so much. Special place

The beauty of islam echoing around the world

  • Cenab-ı Allah semalarımızda dalgalanan bayrağımızın gölgesinde okunan ezanlarımızı dindirtmesin!
