I think that was a big song for her to try and take on. She sings great but, she doesn't feel the emotions of her songs. I think she worries about her vocals and notes. Which I will add she never sings flat. I think Karyn would be happy about her performance, but I cant say P version is better.

I know Karen White sang the song (and did a great job with it), but she is NOT the origanl. Do YOUR research. Look up Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, and Dionne Warwick. Boring - she massacred a classic. Paulini has no idea what the song is about - it's about a woman that is being neglected by her man. Paulini seemed more interested in vocal acrobatics than conveying the emotion needed for the song. Listen to the Karen White version, that's what you call raw emotion and pain.

Paulini's 1st album did ok though HOLDUPVOLUP.#1 and 9 wks in Top 50.Far better than Ricki's have ever done.Ricki's 2 albums have only spent 2 wks in Top 50 each,highest position #30.Her fans multiple buy her singles in their debut wk to get them high. Last 2 singles had huge drops in their 2nd wks.Its bums on seats at concerts and ALBUM sales which spell real success.Neither of them have managed that lately.Come to think of it solo Ricki never has.Reality check HOLDUP.You badly need it. lol.
