Have there been any deaths or accidents related to citizens being to close to cleanup operations? Isn't helping animals, and also researching and documenting what is happening in the Gulf worth the minuscule risk of danger. Persons working the cleanup are distracted and made to shift their attention when New York film crews are IN YOUR FACE (like a cell phone) asking questions, trying to make a splash on the 5:00 news, and they are interfering with your job.

For a pro, 65ft is close enough. But it's not really 65ft. Just being in the general vicinity of a cleanup or rescue effort with a camera is enough to get the authorities attention. Now, I've been out on Coast Guard vessels and have been treated fairly and respectfully. But, given the tendency of many journalists to push the limits and be aggressive, I can certainly understand how "security" can get overzealous. My concern is that this might just be opening the door for a larger media blackout.
This is as serious as serious gets. The seafloor is gushing oil, & methane gas further damaging, & eroding the seafloor. The longer they leave the containment cap on, the longer the seafloor will be under intense pressure leading to a catastrophic blowout of the seafloor. Does BP actually want to fill the whole Gulf of Mexico completely with oil, & create a Bermuda Triangle phenomenon, where planes, & ships would not maintain their buoyancy in the air, or water, & sink or fall from the sky?

Have there been any deaths or accidents related to citizens being to close to cleanup operations? Isn't helping animals, and also researching and documenting what is happening in the Gulf worth the minuscule risk of danger. If the aim of government is to protect the populace then rather then restricting people from digging past 6 inches deep how about restricting corporations from digging under a mile of ocean or maybe some oil rig safety standard.

There are any number of good reasons for telling news crews to stay back from cleanup operations and I'll name one for general discussion.
Persons working the cleanup are distracted and made to shift their attention when New York film crews are IN YOUR FACE (like a cell phone) asking questions, trying to make a splash on the 5:00 news, and they are interfering with your job.

For a pro, 65ft is close enough. But it's not really 65ft. Just being in the general vicinity of a cleanup or rescue effort with a camera is enough to get the authorities attention. Now, I've been out on Coast Guard vessels and have been treated fairly and respectfully. But, given the tendency of many journalists to push the limits and be aggressive, I can certainly understand how "security" can get overzealous. My concern is that this might just be opening the door for a larger media blackout.

The longer they leave the containment cap on, the longer the seafloor will be under intense pressure leading to a catastrophic blowout of the seafloor. Just claim that they are too close and now you cannot get footage. Although, you really don't need to be within 65 ft to use the zoom option on your camera. I say the people have a right to know what's going on, so long as it doesn't interfere with the operations of the clean up crew.

@Idolcruisefix No, it isn't. It is human nature to be greedy. Taking over the world has only been attempted by several people, because there is a limit to greed, where material possesions and power become a burden. Worst yet you seemed to imply all humans want to take over the world. Using what I assume is your attempt at logic:
1. Some people engage in bestiality
2. This has happened for a while.
3. Therefore it is human nature to have sex with dogs.

@scythian0528 (ok I'll try harder) The diversity of humanity makes their nature a confusing topic, but wanting to take over the world, (like wanting armies of servants) is childish, seems still a facet of human nature. Yet, maybe this is from a confused nature, maybe not that of a baby, but yes, in many youths and sociopaths, etc, and in more subtle ways this thinking seems to ripple up in small doses from many folks. the general power trip, etc, this makes you right. @Idolcruisefix Well, you phrased your statement badly. Yes, it would be learned, but a more accurate description would be the desire for power and greed are a common part of human nature. Fantasies of world domination usually fade with age. Thank you for admitting your error, humility is a nice quality that is rare on youtube.
If I was a leader, I would give accurate information out about what was going on, but conspiracy theorists would say I was full of shit or a puppet or w/e.

BP doesn't have the authority to block the airspace or access to the beaches, only the federal government does in association with the F.A.A. or the U.S. Coast Guard This is a direct assault to our Constitution, just like the federal government blocking access to reporters to Guantanamo Bay, dismissing the guilty verdicts of the two black panthers of voter intimidation, suing Arizona for trying to enforce federal laws, etc. So much for transparency!
