the neutrinos have mutated? What?! Millions of dollars spent making movies and no one in hollywood checks actual science fact? Even wikipedia would have done.

I'd expect bullshit science like that in a 50's movie, when radiation made things giant, but surely at some point in the making of this movie they spoke to at least one person who's been to a high school science class and realised that can't physically happen.
