shootouts wont win games in the playoffs, but tying games with 8.1 seconds left in them and then winning in an EXTENDED overtime (more than 5 minutes, cause playoff OT's are 20 minutes incase you didnt know) can definitely win games, especially with a goalie like Lundqvist

goalies help teams win cups, and when you've got one like Henrik, all you need are 2-3 goals, and your set. So a good goalie and at least DECENT offense can win you plenty of games

Rangers made it further than that the past two seasons, and they have a better team this year. As you said lundqvist saves them sometimes and he'll be a beast in the play-offs. If the pens are making it past the first round i see no reason why the Rangers can't considering they've won both meetings this season.
