beautiful video- my parents and I used to go there during the summer and stay just out of town in eyeries- just about five minutes from the "strand" I used to be great friends with a Dennis Sullivan- I used to help take the cows in - we owned a little house named Gerth.... beautiful country...God BLess

My father was born in Castletownbere and my Grandmother was born in Eyeries. I've been to both towns many times. I love it there.

Im in the reserve defence forces and and they the hold all the recruitment camps in bere island and the craic is absolutely mighty...for an island totally isolated from the mainland Id give it a thumbs up. not too sure about castletownbere though, its fairly dear
