  • Fake and Gay! Yes, I be Trollin'!

  • To waterproof your electronics, I recommend Liquid Tape. Just google it; it's only about 6 bucks. Learn electronic concepts before doing anything...

  • awsome vid!

  • Great video man! This brought back some good memories! My brother & I each had one, he the Baja Bug and me the Rough Rider. Sometimes we ran them on real smooth concrete sprayed with water, VERY slippery!! Take a long run at it then hit reverse when the car made the water and the car would instantly pull rapid 360's. HEAPS OF FUN!! Chase the neighbours cats, dogs, evrything!!

  • now that what rc are made for vintage or nt good running

  • andrew hill

  • this vid just gets better the more times ...

you see it ...the cars awsome and metal flake paint is wild

  • I've just bought the Buggy Champ and finally I learn much more in mechanics with this SRB compared with the newest 4x2 chassis from the same manufacturer.

This SRB is a kind of a scale chassis.

  • the front tires are leaning on your rough rider. what happend there or did u make it like that?

  • Nice work I loved it!!

  • very nice video. My RCs don't like water.

  • Great video! , really man just awesome!

Old Tamiyas are built from materials they just don't duplicate today.Sure today you can get faster R/C's but the components are the fun about these Tamiya R/C's. I am a colletor and I don't let them waste away either, I like to use them like in this video.

  • Too Cool!

  • yea they do for sure look cool and 100% scale, but based on that statement we could also argue the new tamiyas look great and super scale too, right?

  • dude your videos are sweet!!!!!!!

  • i found one on ebay, starting bid $1000 for a preserved kit. wow! can someone explain to me a little bit about tamiya and what makes them so sought after? i dont know anything about them other than they seem really diffferent from other rc car brands.

  • CoonBabble, I will answer that question in my opinion...

Tamiya was founded in 1946, and has been making models for awhile.

Many "original" kits are rare and are hard to find, especially in mint condition, skyrocketing prices on certain models.

Alot of people are very nostalgic of many Tamiya models because they used to have one as a child but maybe sold it or ruined it. So now many people are looking to get back what they used to have because they miss it.

    I'm glad I kept my Tamiya's!

  • what is the gold bug

  • really skilled editing. great footage too.

  • dude this was pretty cool. i thought it was a real car at first.

  • video with style and charme! the new reference for rc-car video!

  • 3:47, sad your wheel broke

  • tamiya.... i guess i can't say much more than that other than, beastie boys really gave this vid a kick!!!!!

  • brooklyn

  • Cool video man. Made me laugh hard when I heard the song at first since I was a 10 year old kid fresh off the plane from Tokyo to 'Brooklyn' in 1980. I had the Rough Rider back then. I almost got mugged for it a couple of times since everybody went nuts over it when I played with on the streets. Nothing like that was really around then...especially in Brooklyn. I'm glad I still have it though.....along with a NOS Sand Scorcher body. Nice video man!

  • this guy know's how to intertaind people that was a awesome video WHE WHANT MORE!!! :)

  • in 25 years we'll see how much of the new crap is still around . . and driveable

  • soon to be testing mine on a beach, im getting a super champ in post. be nice to make a vid like these, looks real fun!

  • way nice... good sound as well!

where can i get one of these? ebay? do they still make them?

    thanks

  • love that metal flake yellow

  • You have the best Tamiya videos on youtube man!

  • i love how these have real vw link pin suspension, how do u guys waterproof ur electronics its so damn crazy, i have never got a motor to run underwater like that and what about the speed control!!great movie would u pleases tell me how u waterproofed these badboys

  • They aren't waterproofed

  • are the motors closed endbell?

  • No the motors aren't closed. You should have no problems getting the motors to run under water. My issue is the speed controller stops working 1st(probably cause of all the currant it's flowing) then the reciever. Most of the time the car dies or quits right after the shot. I just dry them out good and they work again later. (I pretty much only drive my rc cars to film them so thats ok with me)

  • yeah i mount esc and reciever on the underside of the body

  • @scorchersandwich so they some like that?

  • I cant get enough of those tamiyas every model is awesome!
