  • I remember rating this song as my fav one years ago.. Still makes it to the top of the list! well done dave!

  • Such a nice song

    :)

  • they did a live performance on saturday night live in december 1995...I was about 5...but it was an excellent performance. I recorded it on VHS but I cannot find anyone who posted it on youtube.

  • correct me if im wrong, but im fairly sure Dave Grohl wrote and performed this whole record by himself, and formed the foo fighters after it was recorded.... pretty good job dave.... I really prefer the "old" foo fighters sound to now days.

  • Your correct, he performed on all the instruments, expect two guitar parts.

  • Yeah, he did. Wrote it all while he was with Nirvana.

  • Kurt liked alone and easy target too

  • You are right mate, dave recorded everything without having a band...

  • "The Cow is You."

I love this line and I'm not particularly sure why XD Either way, I do have this feeling I should print this onto something and carry it around with me forever...

  • why is the end been cut off?

    good song tho

  • fucking greatttt.

  • What is this song about?...

  • en mi opinion este es el mejor disco de foo fighter

  • I just now found the older material by the Foos and it rocks. GO DAVE GO! :)

  • I love this song.. better then great!

  • funny song, i agree with it entirely :)

  • classic.

  • but i dont think punk needs explaining in this much detail, either people r punk or theyre not, and if they r not, by all means listen to the music, but PLEEEASE dont ruin it for the rest of us, case closed =P

  • and... now modern bands (with a few exceptions of course) are trying to sound the same as all the others in order to make a few pennies.... not caring that it is ruining the best (in my opinion) music genre in the world, and completely trashing what has been built by talented musicians with something to say, destroying their work that has took over 40 years, obviously punk has older origins, but i cba..., but i think if people just stick to their guns and tell teh posers to fo they are doing gud

  • hm well to a certain extent i agree, but not "changing", as such... although the two genres are closely related, and i listen to both punk and rock music, and i

<3 both genres, i think punk should stay the same, as what it started out as defined punk.... and no, its not just about spitting in the face of abusive authority and giving them the middle finger, as i cant really define punk, it is rather hard, but it is also about being yourself, and most punk bands in the 60's - 80's supported this

  • im not saying foo fighters are completely unlikable, you are entitled to your opinion, as am i, so i dont really see the need for a response to my post, but a couple of points: A. holidays in cambodia, while it is a very good song, was the CLOSEST thing to pop the dead kennedys released as far as i know, B. dead kennedys I. made the original song, and II. probably did it better, and C, there is no irony, when ya look at it closely :P lmao ... u know my opinion, so...

  • nicely said XxfoofightinxX, a LOT of posers out there, they have started making music of their own, and ruining the whole punk/rock scene... in the words of dead kennedys, "punks not dead, it just deserves to die when it becomes another still cartoon", Fuck off posers, and go and ruin some other type of music because i dont stand for ur mcfly, busted, panic, and alla ur other crap, foo fighters is proper shit, shame its not the whole song, rofl, it just cut out on me, rofl.. anyways, ciao n00bz

  • foo fighters rule, thats my opinion, ok? u can have opinions too, but, i just wanted to point out that foo did a cover of holiday in cambodia, XP, dont ya love irony

  • "and ruining the whole punk/rock scene... in the words of dead kennedys"

I would rather use a word like, 'changing' the whole punk/rock scene. It isn't called alternative rock for no reason. :]

  • is this song about fat chicks???? no one likes fat chicks...WATCH OUT! THEY WILL EAT YOUR PETS!!!!....but on a serious note, the foo's are good shit

  • I'm glad thers bands like the Foos around cause there music these days is rapidly going down hill - but not in all cases - but my friends always question my taste in music and im like why???

just cause i don't go along with the crowd and listen to what everyone else does!!

I'm glad to have individuality and my own style in and not just be a poser like some of my friends!!

    = ]

  • My words, your post :)

    Im the same way.

  • I just have to agree with you guys, Foo Fighters are a great addition to music.

  • i like you, you have a self working brain :D

  • i hate videos on utube if u cant skipp a song to a middle :|

  • I always thought this song was either about the "music industry" or those "fake fans" who just listen to whatever is hip at the time. I think the music industry is right on though. Bunch of old dinosaurs who can't and won't change. Hell, Kurt and all of the Seattle Scene gave it a good shot. Remember how in the 90's you could just feel a change coming? All the nerds were cool, the jocks were jerks and individuality was in - posers were out and it was all good. I miss that feeling. I miss Kurt.

  • very well said

  • We need more of you. Music today is full of posers. I am honoured to have grown up in the heart of Seatte scene. Memories.....

  • i agree. music is filled of posers. this is classic and nothing can ever be called classic again besides this time(rap is not classic)

  • yeah, i cant really see a sound difference, except for the youngness in Grohl's voice in the earlier stuff. But i can certainly see a change in lyrics style. This stuff is more out there and kinda Nirvana-y whereas the newer stuff is deeper and carries and impact to get the old customer coming back for more.

  • what does this song mean

  • Thanks for posting these GREAT songs. I used to listen to this cassette over and over until my tape-eating car decided it wanted Tape-ghetti for dinner :( Love the Foos!

  • My girlfriend lives on a farm, the cows usually come within 20 feet late in the day to graze. I loves to open the window and blare this song at em....

  • hahahaha

  • dave grohls song writing has definitely changed, love the new and old

  • I like the elements they use in this song

  • sweet

  • this is awesome live :D:D

  • cool song,love dave *^*

  • dedicate it to my ex xD

  • yea i love this song better than some of their new stuff

  • One og=f my fav Foo songs if not the favorite.

  • None of your posted songs actually are the full version...

  • One of their (technically his) best.

  • I play this song at least once a month. Still awesome.

  • itd be nice if the song finished in full

  • this is my favorite Foo Fighters song of all time

  • didnt think that many people knew about this song, i think its one of their best even if its a big ambiguous...

  • To bad the retired this track. I don't think Dave likes it much.

  • Dave loves this song. He plays it today and he plays it on some of their live DVDs.

  • there was going to be a vid for this song with the band dressed up in cow costumes but they decided not to do it, such a shame!

  • When I listened this album , i really realized , that the fact that Dave was an ex-nirvana , had nothing or not much to do , with the succes of the album , cause it is awesome !!!!!! And the fact that Dave is an ex-nirvana Too !!!! FuLL FAITES ( in my language is a JOKE IT meAns : LOT OF mischivous people that get drunk and hight , it´s a Slang , jeje , by .

  • im gonna make a clip of this song with cows:P

  • give advice 2 me

  • They should play a friggin' cowbell, not a cowsnare!

  • @WoWLonHorde Well, when the Foos play farms all the resident cows play their bells along w/ this song. This song is cow approved: two hooves up.

  • Thaks a lot to post the song´s letters. For peopleo who is no english speaking, is difficult to understad what they ´re talking about

  • Your very welcome

  • love this tune...in fact i love all their tunes from their debut album...all angst over women, money and staying true
