The music was amazing, but the lyrics were kinda forgettable. I felt that whoever wrote them didnt connect at all with the characters. There are obvious differences between the music from princess and the frog and the little mermaid (meaning that R. Newman doesn't have that understanding of characters as Howard Ashman did)
It's cool that this movie is set in 1920's America and everything, but does anyone else notice a problem with that? Supposing Tiana gets her dream restaraunt in the end (And considering this is a Disney movie that's a fair supposition) She's going to have to work through the Great Depression in just a few years, and is likely to lose everything in that time. Fairy tales just don't really work IMO when real history is thrown in the mix.
Actually, the movie is set to take place in 1940's New Orleans. So the only thing Tiana will have to work through is the 1950's, which was one of the most economically prosperous decades of the 20th century. And besides, she's going to end up married to a PRINCE, remember? Even if there were a Depression coming, she'd be in good hands.
film looks awesome. But, lol, the other disney princess fairy tales take place a long time ago and far away? I consider this to be set long ago and and is far away...if your where I am haha

Oh God not a sequel..... please! The movie was great and that's that! Don't ruin it by making a sequel.... a DISNEY SEQUEL.
And speaking of history, we all know history of disney sequels...right?
