  • great music!

  • TOP VIDEO

  • wait... so the bigger the fish is, the easier to get?

  • Nice vid! Good job. I have never went for gar. Gotta try it.

  • Why dont you use compound bows with a light pull?

  • @sappattack01 because compounds are for women and recurves are for men

  • @chevypower406 You might want to tell some the worlds top sport hunters and Olympic archers that little doozey because they use compound all day long. I think it's more like recurve is for waging war and compound is for recreation. Need to kill a human wearing chain mail from 200 yards? A recurve longbow is the only way to go.

  • Good work, guys!!

    Did you eat them??

  • @ilybbesgsg Eat some, mount some.

  • @jackson4tube Where do you buy the whole equipment?

  • @ilybbesgsg Go to a wholesale sport supplier, or your local archer center. Buy a brand like PSE or Fred Bear, never go to Wal-Mart or a store of the like the bows there are very low quality.

  • I'm curious about what people do with THREE 150lb+ alligator gar...

  • i never knew you could fish with a bow. i am now a happy man.

  • @79redangus YES!!!! I remember my grandpa would take me out as a kid. But that was a long time ago, we can't hunt crap out here now. In most cases here (CA.) we treat animals better than out fellow man. :(

  • How much is a trip and do you have to have your own bow?

  • @ManchesterUtdfan15 The bigfishbowfishingtexas website has the pricing and answers to your questions.

  • @vixx5946 Gars like to eat smaller fish, they seem to be friendly and peaceful, sort of like dolphins.

  • @777dingo dont compare them to dolphins.....nowhere close

  • can you eat gar

  • @fishing54312 yes

  • what do you do with the gar after you get them?

  • lol that cup holder is his float system its a bottle tied to the end of his string so if a big gar takes all of his string he can still find it

  • Is it better with a crossbow or with a bow?

  • Steam 'em and they flake up. I make either gar balls or fry them into patties.

  • i think the usa should sell there big carp to the u.k over here we love carp, over there you see them as vermin

  • hella small fish....haha jk

  • i love bowfishing

  • hell ya that away slayin em... we got alot of those bastards up here in southern IL... keep it up

  • aerosmith!

  • You can't eat them though right?

  • Awesome! Now that's the way to fish!!

Was never too keen on sitting there and holding a trap, waiting for some critter to wander into it.

  • Im gonna get Nessy like that. You just wait.

  • You may not call this fishing, but i can promise you, i LOVE fishing, and i think about summer time all winter, just waiting till the fish start biting real good, but once im out of school, all thats on my mind is bow fishing. and girls...but bow fishing is amazing! you have to try it! you will love it!

  • Hahaha! Your right! I see it at 2:35.

  • How the hell do they not get off!?!?!? Those fish were HUGE!!

  • The line is so fat, it looks like shoe string.

  • Well for the fish to stay on, the whole arrow will have to go straight through it.

    Oh Merry Xmas btw.

  • @jackson4tube lol awesome.

  • @YouCanFish he better be careful he doesn't spill his beer when he shoots lol

  • wait was that a spincast reel? I thought them things would be torn apart on a fish like those gars... damn. What line are they using?

  • Ya its a spincast reel. I use a retriever but it all depends on what you like. and line all depends it can be up to 200 or 250

  • holy freaking sht

    2:09

  • NOW THATS BOW FISHIN!

  • hahahahahah!!!!!!!!!! nice I AM SO TRYING THIS LOL

  • These things have scales made out of enamel (same thing as teeth), they are not easy to kill :/

  • VERY VERY hard to clean 'em for eating too :)

  • man this seems hella fun i have to try it

  • are they good to eat

  • @vangsta206 Yes they are. All the gar you see in the video and on my website were cleaned and eaten or turned into a wall mounted trophy.

  • YES .... VERY ... that is if you know how to cookem right ....

  • Suck its illigal to bow fish for anything in British Columbia except burbot and they are bottom feeders. Some rules...

  • all i get to see are long nose gar..... during the summer they over take the river i go on..... that bow fishing looks fun..... been a archery nut for a long ass time

  • yeah alligators are hard to handle just so much power and gotta have a strong ass bow to get threw and also the risk of getin bit by the monster but ALWAYS get more then 1 arrow in at a time and NEVER do it alone

  • @johnkck

Just give me a call to book your trtip. I provide everything.

  • they have this fish in tabasco mexico and they call them pejelagarto

  • yes they do ...but they also have it closer to the border like in Coahuila ...they call it catano ....

  • the other day i was at the spillway near my house and saw a gar that was dark brown with like orange spots or somethin u have ne idea what kind of gar that is

  • how much does it cost to do something like that

  • not much a good bow is 200$

  • I am 18 and my buddies and I just went bowfishin for the first time last night, we were shootin carp and some big suckers up on the St. Croix river in hudson wi. I had just shot at a carp and a 3-4 foot gar went cruisin about 5 feet from me but I couldnt retrieve my arrow in time, I know that is a small gar but for this area you dont get many shots at gar and one that big is pretty decent: the one that got away

  • well i do love hunting and fishing and i live in the area but i havent heard of such big gar in austin

  • Yea, the big dogs are not here in Austin. Mark takes his clients *to the fish* on other water bodies around Texas. There are several. So, where ever weather conditions are right, *that's* where he'll take you. Mark can put you on the fish, you just have to be able to hit your mark!

  • unbelievable big fishes :S:S

  • ya them are nice but in brewton theres some bigger

  • I used to do this as a kid here in south FL. but the biggest gator gar we got was about 6lbs an 2ft. never knew they got even close to that big.
