I think you have the right idea. With the way the US goverment is going staying with what works is the smart thing to do. You can get fuel for a steam powered machine but can you make your own gasoline or diesel?
actually these earlier ones are steam only. My later contraptions involves radio control, which uses electric servos for steering and throttle control of the the steam etc.
That was AWESOME!! great job I'm a power plant operator gas turbines now but i've ran many many boilers and I love steam toys great job!!!! And great VIDEO
From Stockholm, Sweden: Yes, this fantastic!! So many! And they sure work. Ha, ha, ha! Very entertaining. BUT I MISS THE SOUND!! And I would also like to see much longer test runs. Hoping for that. :-)
I am also very interested in technology from this era, especially robotics! But there is just something very compelling about steam power, it gives me an excuse to play with fire. It's very important to me to do something different, make stuff that is so stupid and pointless that it makes people laugh :) Anyway, I love the past, and I love proving steampunk is possible using real old tech.
@eduardelric cause actually, Steam Power isn't really "Old" if people would look more into it, and possibly redesign it and create a Electrically or friction heated boiler some how and recreate the Steam engine to be more eficient and compact it would make a real feasible idea. They do not lack in the power department by no means. Besides you fucking moron, who would honestly be ignorant enough to build a Jet engine powered toy car? and Gas engines are VERY inefficient if thats what you're sayin
Thanks :) Yes I did. If you take a look at my other videos, you'll see a lot more. These were the early ones, the more recent ones are far more complex, walking, r/c, all steam powered.
Brilliant. I have a few assorted stationary engines but only run them as an exercise in its own right. To actually see them doing something is spectacular indeed.
Now build it 10 times bigger and ride it !

This kind of reminds me of the movie "Steam Boy." Life would be so different if we used steam power for everything.

In this vid you can see them turn.
DAKOTA56777 2 years ago
yes they turn, but not radio control. Some turn because they have a wheel cranked to right or left, so they are going in a circle.

@Y0tsuba Then why does society use internal combustion engines instead of steam engines which are external combustion engines????
