Chow's Shanghaitan was filmed 25 years ago. It was an excellent drama at that time. But I don't think any young person at this time is interested in watching a show which was made 25 years ago. The only way to introduce this wonderful and touching story to them is to remake it.
I can't think of any actor who fits this leading role more than Huang Xiaoming. Huang Xiaoming is a promising young actor and I have faith in him.

chow yunfa was good and is still good, but that doesn't mean no one can exceed him. the old version of shanghai bund was shot more than 20 years ago, do you think teenagers and young generation still like classic drama that much? i like chow yunfa myself, but i still dunt think no one is better than him, plus, chow himself is quite happy with remaking this drama.
