This is NO mystery it's all due to the "rolling shutter" feature of the ccd rather than it using a "global shutter". This is something you get when you have a flash from a flash-bulb or lighting in the frame. The ccd doesn't address all of the pixels in the frame the same way at the same time with this "rolling shutter" behavior. There are articles on it. Typical of inexpensive SLR's.

I notice it was mentioned in the Yahoo article I found this story, he showed the photo to a tour guide on the day he took it. He says NOBODY saw the light. He claims light is invisible to people. The light nobody saw that day, dude got a picture of, or maybe he faked the photo by overlaying a picture of his daughter on it and put it on his camera, then carried it to where he knew conditions would be stormy and then presented it to the tour guide to gain legitimacy with his invisible light claim.
So the guy manipulates a photo of his daughter in the outfit she's going to wear to the pyramid, he puts the photo on his phone, carries his phone to the pyramid and pretends to take the shot when lightning strikes. It's noteworthy, the guy doesn't mention the UFO in the picture he doubtless spent time staring at, the UFO possibly a means to enforce the lightning as is proven technology. So, perhaps the photo was given to him for manipulation by a UFO lightning strike tech holder.
Your theory presumes the roof of the pyramid is not solid and the light radiating from inside. Perhaps there was a reflective surface on top of the Pyramid, that was reflecting the lightning bolt. I think it's as likely a photo shop hoax, that the guy engineered by taking his daughter to the ancient Mayan pyramid on the day of a lightning storm in the same outfit he had manipulated a picture he found online, to make seem his daughter was in that outfit in front of the pyramid radiating light

Dude, there is no video of the light coming and going, it only showed up on camera in ONE picture. So its impossible to determine if the light came from the temple or if the light came down and hit the roof, thus not illuminating the entrance. Besides the 'experts' opinion on it is its an 'iphone glich' (which is bullshit), this means the light was NOT intentionally created by the camera man or edited into the picture, so by the experts own admission it can not be a hoax, hoaxs are not gliches.

In answer to your point about the light not filling the chamber - read David Dunn's book on the Great Pyramid - the Stone itself is the source of the light via Telluric Energy - it would flow up the 'pillars' on each side of the door and become released photons from the top of the pyramid.
Actually, I read a book years ago about the Great Pyramid and it was theorized then that they would emit a light beam upwards when they were still covered in White Limestone - it has also been reported that Scientists discovered the same thing concerning the Bosnian Pyramid.
Not to mention it has no spacial volume that a square or round beam of light should have.
Conclusion: This is not a light at all, but either a crappy hoax, or some other phenomina.
It could be a streak in the polarized film coating of the camera lens, which would, very likely in fact, create a light pinkish area on the photo, possibly due to infrared not being properly filtered away from the film, or digital recording.
Light beams are invisible, so there must be a hell of a lot of air pollution for the light to be reflecting from, in order for this to be captured by eye OR on film.
Other things to note... it just LOOKS like a bad photoshop job... it's a solid gradient with no sort of interference or flaws, and there is no kind of light that can go that magnitude without encountering some form of resistance, such as objects, clouds, dust, etc, which would cause variation in the beam.
as i understood this shot was taken in a series of shots. the beam was not visible for the people shooting the images at that moment, until seeing the photo itself.
Why is there only one pic? Why not a vid? How many people saw this? Where are the news reports with a whole town of mexicans clamering about? How long did the light last? was anybody close to the tower when it went off? Was there any sound? was there any feeling, tingling? Your hoax theory, which makes perfect logical sense, is based on the assumption that this ancient pyramid would require a light source that fits the parameters of our current understanding and limits of technology. I tend to lean toward the idea that when an ancient pyramid suddenly shoots out a beam of light after a few thousand years of inactivity, it's light source is most likely of a technology we're are unfamiliar with.

In cases such as these, it may not fit that context (i.e. life must have water, O2, be a certain temperature, etc. to exist is another example). Real or a hoax, I would like to point out that the center of that chamber is not an open space. Once you enter the doorway it's a square hallway that goes around the perimeter of the room and the center is a floor to ceiling circular pillar of solid rock that takes up most of the space. Visitors are no longer in there. The only other thing in the room I recall is a hole in the floor with a grate over it that went down far enough that I could not see the bottom in the low light conditions.

You need to understand that just because you can't comprehend how the light is happening, that doesn't mean it's a hoax. You have no more right to claim this is a hoax then people have saying ancient belief systems are myths.
The picture was taken with an Apple Iphone. Low quality CCD when overexposed by lightning create an extreme aparation across a portion of the image. The apparation that is common amongst all over exposed photos, rectangle beam phenomena. If you dont beleive me, point your camera at the sun and watch the line it creates. I fully beleive that lightning struct the roof, and the out of focus exposure showed the rectangle instead of the lightning. Lightning is kelvin bright and laser like. Physics
For some people EVERYTHING they don't understand is a hoax. You know what the guide said to the couple when he saw the photo? He said something like: "Oh, this photo must be kept. This is a real thing but only few people captured this on photo." This means that the guide has seen this beam more than once before and many people captured the "phenomenon" on photo. Your theory presumes the roof of the pyramid is not solid and the light radiating from inside. Perhaps there was a reflective surface on top of the Pyramid, that was reflecting the lightning bolt. I think it's as likely a photo shop hoax, that the guy engineered by taking his daughter to the ancient Mayan pyramid on the day of a lightning storm in the same outfit he had manipulated a picture he found online, to make seem his daughter was in that outfit in front of the pyramid radiating light

Dude, there is no video of the light coming and going, it only showed up on camera in ONE picture. So its impossible to determine if the light came from the temple or if the light came down and hit the roof, thus not illuminating the entrance. Besides the 'experts' opinion on it is its an 'iphone glich' (which is bullshit), this means the light was NOT intentionally created by the camera man or edited into the picture, so by the experts own admission it can not be a hoax, hoaxs are not gliches.

Conclusion: This is not a light at all, but either a crappy hoax, or some other phenomina.
It could be a streak in the polarized film coating of the camera lens, which would, very likely in fact, create a light pinkish area on the photo, possibly due to infrared not being properly filtered away from the film, or digital recording.

Light beams are invisible, so there must be a hell of a lot of air pollution for the light to be reflecting from, in order for this to be captured by eye OR on film.
Other things to note... it just LOOKS like a bad photoshop job... it's a solid gradient with no sort of interference or flaws, and there is no kind of light that can go that magnitude without encountering some form of resistance, such as objects, clouds, dust, etc, which would cause variation in the beam.

I don't know whether this is a hoax, but the top of the pyramid isn't one chamber. Each doorway leads to a small room. Just because there is no light coming from the door in the picture doesn't exclude the light coming from another chamber.
I've climbed the pyramid (in 1994). I've been in each of those rooms. They are separated by very dense stone walls.

Your hoax theory, which makes perfect logical sense, is based on the assumption that this ancient pyramid would require a light source that fits the parameters of our current understanding and limits of technology. I tend to lean toward the idea that when an ancient pyramid suddenly shoots out a beam of light after a few thousand years of inactivity, it's light source is most likely of a technology we're are unfamiliar with.

2) if this storm brought about ufos and a beam of light down then why is it brighter closer to the pyramid rather than from the sky, wouldnt it suggest that maybe it came from the pyramid instead so maybe an investigation into the structure could present an answer rather than the sky

Real or a hoax, I would like to point out that the center of that chamber is not an open space. Once you enter the doorway it's a square hallway that goes around the perimeter of the room and the center is a floor to ceiling circular pillar of solid rock that takes up most of the space. Visitors are no longer in there. The only other thing in the room I recall is a hole in the floor with a grate over it that went down far enough that I could not see the bottom in the low light conditions.

These people below are idiots. I love your channel and videos, whether any of it is truth, hoax, or still undecided....it hardly matters to me. It makes me THINK. It might be true...and all theories had to be proven before being considered fact. These types of subjects open your mind, and for anyone to believe we are alone in the universe seems ridiculous. You need to understand that just because you can't comprehend how the light is happening, that doesn't mean it's a hoax. You have no more right to claim this is a hoax then people have saying ancient belief systems are myths.

The picture was taken with an Apple Iphone. Low quality CCD when overexposed by lightning create an extreme aparation across a portion of the image. The apparation that is common amongst all over exposed photos, rectangle beam phenomena. If you dont beleive me, point your camera at the sun and watch the line it creates. I fully beleive that lightning struct the roof, and the out of focus exposure showed the rectangle instead of the lightning. Lightning is kelvin bright and laser like. Physics

For some people EVERYTHING they don't understand is a hoax. You know what the guide said to the couple when he saw the photo? He said something like: "Oh, this photo must be kept. This is a real thing but only few people captured this on photo." This means that the guide has seen this beam more than once before and many people captured the "phenomenon" on photo. I bet one day soon, all the ignorant people will feel so sorry for being so arrogant and close minded.

hey retard, if ur going to waste ur time and try to prove something a hoax, which u have nothing better to do, u should at least be convincing in ur argument, u should have said something like the follownig: since there were lightning storms in the back ground, the last photo that was captured came from a lightining that had struck and was fading away which coincidently was behind the pyramid, and that's why the photograoher didn't see it, the lightning was too fast.

i believe its a hoax. forget about the claim about there being no light from the top of the Chichen Itza; the lack of light contrast in the photo (as the light beam would be brighter and making everything else darker) already screams photoshop.

I just wanna voice my opinion about the last part. Ancient Civilizations such as Aztecs, Mayans, And Incas had technology centuries ahead of their time. But all that Knowledge was lost in history. They were brilliant. So they might have been able to achieve that with help of their "GODS". Which came to earth and help our race progress. That is my opinion on the matter.

I think its this hilarious because really, those pyramids have had every nook and cranny explored.. every pebble has been tipped over and inspected. Do you HONESTLY believe there was a device inside the pyramid capable of creating that type of light without anyone noticing it? What did they use to power it? Rocks? C'mon people.. this isn't the last Indianna Jones movie..
