@driftkingBBS yes it's legal. It's a completely stock (at that time) e46 m3. Only mod on the car was the muffler and a SSK.

although I struggle to see how one day of donughts in a wet parking lot with bald tires is any different than tracking the car occasionally in terms of stress put on chasis, driveline, and powerplant. dunno tho.

Good point. It is the constant level of heat and stress applied to said components (in this case: engine, transmission, and rear diff.) as opposed the more gradual application of stress and heat at a track day event.
