The AR-15 was the world's first truly modular rifle. It wasn't even really intended to be, however, the design was modern enough in many other ways, and it has been around for so long, that many innovations have kept it a truly modern and versatile combat and/or sporting rifle. It may not be perfect, but it does a lot of things quite well. If the AR continues to be modernized, as it has in the past, it may be around for a long time to come.
good vid i just bought a RRA last week and have already ordered over $100 in upgrades i shouldnt have to get upgrades since it cost $1000 itself but i heard rock river is top of the line in AR'S
Anyone know when BCM BCGs will be back in stock? It's the only part i'm missing for a complete BCM rifle.
Also, i considered getting a CMMG .22 conversion kit in the meantime, but then i noticed their complete uppers are $350! Seems to good to be true, is there a catch?
@MrLoveslittlekids While many can be happy with it, AR-15s are one of the most (if not THE most) popular semi auto on the market. Accessories are pretty much what drives the AR market (and some how justifies a 1000 dollar price tag)
Also say you have a local store and they don't have the AR15 you want... they can order them for cheaper than you! I got a major dicount on my mossberg when i had it ordered through my local gun store than had they had it in stock!
Its a crap shoot... like this guy is sayn'. Where I live, You really have to be careful about every part you buy. All my mags are fixed 10 rd mags..Can't have a detachable magazine, barrel length, if it has anything stamped on the lower you have to read through the ban list and on and on. In some states you are better off buying a complete from a dealer. Make sure its all legit and legal.
M16 means Model 16 which is what the Army called their rifle. AR 15 means Assalt Rifle 15 which is the civilian name for the rifle. The Army was full auto and the civilian is semi-auto.
Could you give me a recommendation on a decently priced lower and upper?

@GoldenRing1989
ever heard of a shortdot?
I suggest you do a bit more research on quality accessories before you assume we are talking about the toys you see in online catalogs

Building an AR is soooo much fun. I've done it for $500 and $2500.00. It all depends on what you want and what you have.

Do you have to get your lower shipped to your FFL because it holds the serial number? Cool overview!
-Cash
KrazyCash 10 months ago
@KrazyCash Yes. The lower is considered a firearm.

@KrazyCash Yeah, if you are ordering a lower online, you have to have it shipped to a FFL..
