Do you understand what you people are saying?
you DONT WANT regulation. YOU DONT WANT REGULATION.
Now. Repeat that in your head a few times, and please, snap into reality for a second and see that LESS REGULATION is what got us into this fucking economic mess in the first place!!!
The Health Care will be mandated just like auto insurance & you will be required to buy health insurance if not your going to get a fine. Also what their not telling you is your premiums could be high for previous conditions as Auto Insurance does for driving records.

So what? All that means is that US TAXPAYERS wont have to pay for someone who is irresponsible enough NOT to have their own insurance! WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH THAT?
Why the fuck should I have to pay for some idiot who doesnt have health insurance and then gets hurt doing something stupid!!
Ya, I always think it's so funny went the cop's stop crimes, firefighters put out fires, public school teachers teacher our children, there are roads to drive on, their is clean water to drink, ect, ect, ect. Don't buy it, the government is only here to make your life hard, I am sure the government has never once helped you though.
Yes, you are right on that, those are things the government does well. I will rethink my position on this. Don't necessarily want more government, but if I call 911 I expect a policeman to respond.
Barney Frank has the face of a bulldog and his voice sounds like he has an addiction to deep throating Salami. I change the channel when he comes on he makes me want to puke just looking at his UGLY face.
I am in his district and its NOT possible Massachusetts is 100% controlled by the left. There is not a chance of the left leaving Mass there is no balance of power in MA which is a huge democratic problem
"We Are Trying On Every Front To Increase The Role Of Government" and "We Are Trying On Every Front To Increase The Role Of Government in the role of regulation" when discussing the cause of the down for of the economy, there is no difference at all in those two statements, right? Way to take the quote out of context.
In the US, financial institutions can essentially choose which agency regulates them. The agency gets its operating budget by fees from the regulated institutions - so agencies compete for clients. One axis of competition is the strictness of oversight. A single regulatory agency, which advertised its permissiveness, was in charge of many of the first-to-fall institutions. For more info, listen to This American Life Episode 382, "The Watchmen."
Yes, no regulations would be GREAT, then the actions of Enron, Madoff, WorldCom and so many others would be perfectly legal. Companies could just report anything they want. Just thing of the new market in snake oil! Companies could clam a product is perfectly safe and get free human test subject. Who needs the FDA or the FCC. Really, without the FCC I am sure planes would be faster, they're might be a few mid air collations, but hey no regulations.
So I guess you would think Barney was all for when the Republicans in 2003 called for the need for regulations of mortgage market specifically Fannie and Freddie. BUT HE WASN'T!!!! He said that Fannie and Freddie did not need added regulation to watch over their lending practices.
This is the reason our banks collaspe is there was no regulation on the loans they were giving. Who said they didn't need it Barney Frank!!!!! Frany is an idiot!
Please sight your source on that. If we go by this video, Barney was not for the R's "regulations" as they did not do enough, but in the end got a few minor compromises and signed it. He was for a higher level of regulation, but as R's rules the house senate and WH, there was little he could do.
Frank said - during 12 years of Republican rule no reform was adopted regarding Fannie and Freddie. In 07, after I became the Chairman, House passed a strong reform bill; we sought to get the admins approval to include it in the economic stimulus legislation in Jan 08; and finally got it passed and onto Bushs desk in July 08. 12 years of R rule produced no reform of Fannie and Freddie. We were able to adopt it in 19 months, and we could have done it much quicker if the admin had cooperated"
I agree with Barney on this even though role of government is never a good thing, we do need it when it comes to wall street mayhem going on. I also agree that Republican administration ruined the role of government and now pointing the fingers at democrats.
it's just very very very frustrating to listen to this idiot - how/why does this idiot Frank keep getting elected? Are people in Massachussettes really that dumb?
tell us how you really feel Barney. Did people actually vote for that guy?? What the hell were people thinking? The special olympics of Government at work. Get rid of the Government running amuck - start with Frank.
The actual quote is, regarding the banking industry's catastrophic failure to make sensible decisions on its own: "We are trying on every front to increase the role of government in the regulatory area." That's the government's job. People taking this quote out of context (I'm looking at you, NRCC!) ought to be ashamed of themselves.
1 star for Barney and his political ideals of large government.
5 stars for this video and helping show America what most Democrats really stand for. I mean if it wasn't for those posting this on YouTube very few would have seen this because so few watch MSNBC!
Keep the pressure on Democrats. Use their words against them. Start fighting for individual freedoms and SMALLER government.
This is a government of, by, and for the people; a smaller government means less involvement of the people. Is that what you're for? You want to be governed by the FEW?
The less government bueracracy there is the MORE power the people have. When there is larger government the people have LESS control. We have seen this for years (Repubs and Dems) keep raising taxes and passing laws that keep the people under govt control.
The people still elect the same number of people (yes I know the House is based on population and that does change). It's all the govt spending and power that needs to be controlled. Yes we need some govt but not larger.
I understand, unfortunately, as has happened throughout history, the freedoms are then taken away by those with more education and more ability to utilize the 'power'. The government stands back and the poor go hungry and aren't able to care for their health. A few scraps and bones are thrown to them in the form of welfare and social services but only enough to allow them to service those in power. This is an old story and it needs to change.
a problem caused by govt. that we will be paying for for years and years. still, they are getting fat on huge salaries, govt. is increasing. Less govt. now!
Excellent observation. MSNBC and it's affiliates are JOKES. Same thing happens on The Rachel Madcow show. She "interviews" Olbermann about the WH War on Fox. That is a REAL news show. LOL.
If ever there was a man that need to be thrown out on his ear this Barny Frank needs to go Man alive I hope he gets Voted out soon! He is a great argument for term limits!
This man is the single most culpable person for the current financial situation. He should be tried and executed for treason.
Add into the fact there was a brothel being run from his home and he "had no idea" ? Give me a break. Why is he still in office after that? If there was an "R" after his name he would have been in prison long ago.
Get these corrupt bastards out of office and in prison.
