@TylerGillMusic I am well aware of how modes work. The problem here is that focal key center is G major, NOT E minor. In fact, there's not a single E minor chord in this entire track; it's rotating between G and C, the I and IV chords in G major. Thinking that just because G major and E minor scales are the same notes doesn't constitute calling this track "E minor." I don't see tracks like this being called "C Lydian" or "F# Locrian" and for good reason: That's not the key they're in.
@Yepitsme82 E minor and G major contain the same notes. E Aeolian can be moved to G Ionian while still playing in the same key (Aeolian = natural minor and Ionian = natural major)
I don't hear the "e minor" at all. This just involves two chords G major and C minor. It starts with G major and then it goes the "C major" and it keeps alternating. Anyways it's a good backing track to play along with :D
Technically e minor and G Major have the same notes, but I think this backing track sounds better if you play in G Major and base you phrases and melodies around G
I guess i have two account like it to practrice with a, c, d, and e mode... what my mom and paul did told me with dennis the principal of rock U, Ever..
the major scales and relative minor are both positions of each other its sometimes easier to just think of it in the relative minor but when you advance more its better to be able to use both that way you can apply modes and more abstract scale types @BDagys
the notes in the G major scale are G_A_B_C_D_E_F#_G....so the E minor pent (5) scale which is "in the family" has the notes E_G_A_B_D_E...so this will fit.....for this type of song if you are in the E minor pent box shape you can do runs as fast as you want up and down but it would be best to end your phrases on the G_B or D notes with some vibrato type deal.....I believe that the first and last notes of short solo phrases are the most important. If some stuff in middle is "out" its no big deal.
@metalhead6661111 a basic understanding of music theory is more important than anything "from your heart."
having a complex knowledge of advanced music theory enables me to play more decisively and allows for building and understanding of complex chord structures.
to be a truly great guitarist, you must understand music and theory, and use that knowledge to express yourself.
You're welcome :)

This needs to be renamed "Clean Electric Guitar Backing Track in G Major."

g major fits much better than e minor because of the high g he plays all the time

The drums sound terrible, but everything else is fantastic! I guess that's what you would expect from drum software or w/e you used.

I wouldn't use many minor resolutions for this track. Listen to it, it revolves around major pretty obviously.

learning scales is good, but to truly be a great guitarist you must play from your heart, not from a book.

@Gizmotrold it's confusing at first but if you take music theory you'd understand, the relative minor to g is e
