The fury is a great bike. Balls? Could use a little more power but its a chopper for reliable dependable trouble free cruising. Personality...its unlike other choppers in that it handles way better and its smooth. All the things we use to complain about this bike has improved and now ppl want to say its soulless no personality? If you want a bike that shakes and rattles and has an unnerving feeling as you take a corner by all means get something else. This is a great bike for customizing.

V-Rods are not $23k, hell I can get a new V-Rod Muscle off the show room floor for a little over $16k where I live. Hell just get a used one that's a couple years old with low miles and you're talking Fury cost and you won't have plastic parts either. Them Muscle is only a 1250cc and cranking 120 HP 86 TRQ with 11.5:1 compression stock. When the 1312cc Fury is 9.2:1 compression with only about 76/77 HP/TRQ.
What a crock. Honda is far from new to the game. They have been making quality bikes since 1948 and has been the largest bike maker in the world since 1964. Big Dog is the baby in the arena.

Furys arre going to your best bang for the buck period 13 to 14k. compared to the closest thing harley has the vrod at an astounding 23k starting. not to mention harleys going to die out in like the next thirty years just because they can never up date their engines or designs. it took them what over 15 years to convert their entire production line to fuel injection. they cost more to maintain just because you have to buy harley approved everything to keep your warranty.

Shaftdrive is awesome! There is no maintenence. Its more durable than a chain or belt. Y don't more companies use them cuz they wanna make money off maintenence. Big dogs cool but the fury beats it hands down. Look at the cost. Now compare the big dog to a occ bike.
Imagine if Honda put another $10,000 into the Fury.
HOWEVER, not everyone wants to spend $20-30,000 on a bike or can afford to. My season is 4 months at best, I'd never blow $25,000 for a season that short but I decided that $13,000 was okay and am totally happy with my Fury.

The fury is not a chopper, it's a cruiser with styling characteristics you find in a chopper. I have a Fury and I really like it, theres a few things I would change, but it's still a very nice bike. As far as all the people spouting off about how it's not a Harley and therefore not a real bike, well that's just being ignorant. If I buy one of these, it would be for a good looking daily rider I could ride the piss out of forever. Anything that helps keep the bikes longevity high and maintenance requirements low is a plus for me. It's all in what you're looking for, and what you're using the bike for (or rather not using). For what I need/want/demand, the Fury seems like a good match.
That's like comparing a BMW 3 series to a BMW 7 series. Big Dog has a big edge, and a BIG price, at about double the Fury. I think both bikes are great, but are two different demographics. Someone who wants a Big Dog and can afford one, is not going to buy a Fury. Someone who has $12,000 to spend CANT buy a Big Dog.....

@ndogg20 They are heavier, and with the added rotational mass are going to rob more power, but we're not exactly talking about performance minded bikes. They require far less maintenance. Obviously chains are the worst in that regard, but even belts stretch, become brittle, and are eventually replaced. How often do you change the gear oil in your cars? Probably not often enough, as most of us, hahahah, but it's relatively quick, easy, and infrequent. The only "benefit" of a belt is styling
As for the YamaStar suggestion: I tried to like that bike but lets face it-ITS UGLY AS SIN!!! Looks nice from right side(engine i'm saying) but take a look at the left. Drooping cables,linkage allover the place...No thanks. I'll stick to the original they have all tried to copy for 25 years-and STILL can't come close. Just my opinion after a life of metrics and my first HD...Yeah it rips BUT it can't/won't EVER look or sound like a Harley. Let the the slams begin!!! ;-P
i spent 8,700 on a new vtx .its not anywear near a bigdog or a stock harleyy. the headlight was plastic an all side covers an head covers are all plastic. i put 5,000 miles on the bike and sold it .im much happyer with my harley so think before you spend your money

@MasterJediKyleKatarn It's about a $2000 difference in msrp, but in looking around i've seen new furys for sale that would make that a $3k difference. The Raider is definitely bad ass, and one I have looked at. Although the increased gas capacity could be nice for really long treks, I just personally don't like the big gas tank. the whole bike looks a bit bulky and cluttered for my taste. Very nice though, and I'm sure it moves.

As for the YamaStar suggestion: I tried to like that bike but lets face it-ITS UGLY AS SIN!!! Looks nice from right side(engine i'm saying) but take a look at the left. Drooping cables,linkage allover the place...No thanks. I'll stick to the original they have all tried to copy for 25 years-and STILL can't come close. Just my opinion after a life of metrics and my first HD...Yeah it rips BUT it can't/won't EVER look or sound like a Harley. Let the the slams begin!!! ;-P

i spent 8,700 on a new vtx .its not anywear near a bigdog or a stock harleyy. the headlight was plastic an all side covers an head covers are all plastic. i put 5,000 miles on the bike and sold it .im much happyer with my harley so think before you spend your money

The Raider is definitely bad ass, and one I have looked at. Although the increased gas capacity could be nice for really long treks, I just personally don't like the big gas tank. the whole bike looks a bit bulky and cluttered for my taste. Very nice though, and I'm sure it moves.
