Same concept with XP, only you can change hidden file & extension settings directly from any folder. Thanks so much for this tutorial though, theres no way Im paying $2 total for a ringtone (as my preferred ringtone type is not something I'd want to listen to as a full song).

after converting to aac format right click and open the converted song in windows explorer andchange the file extinchion from

.m4a to .m4r!!!

it didn't work for me...i changed the file extension to m4r but when i play it, it doesn't show up in the ringtones file and i cant drag it into it either...when i play it, it just says that it can't be played because the original file can't be found
