well that only happens when the person doesn't know how to backflip at all. you really will never land on your neck as long as you know how to backflip. the fail blog videos of people landing on their neck go like this.... A person goes for a decent sized jump however they are unbalanced. Their feet slip out from under them and a slow flip is initiated causing the person to land on their neck or their back. Commitment is key though
i might try it soon, i can backflip prefect on flat ground. Thats what my question is about, how much does the weight of the board effect the speed of the rotation
@grapestm good question. It does effect the flip alot. It feels weird flipping with your snowboard for the first time. It feels like you got light weights attached to your feet throughout the flip when you're doing a barrel roll. In addition you need to do the flip in your stance and not with your feet together, it makes a difference. If i were you, id practice on a trampoline, jump very high and do backflips to simulate the jump you will perform the backflip on.
@TylerTheStyler just tried it today! landed on my knees every time, but what i think is that if u dont land onyour back or head, its probably a good first attempt
@grapestm Thats great news! thats how i started too! I realized i kept landing on my knee's because i wasnt getting enough height! If you want to see my first time ever trying... youtube.com/watch?v=cfANenaBXcs You will get this! I'm glad that you got past the hardest part. And thats a good mindset to have. Basically flip fast enough to not land on your head!
