  • Whole wheat!!

  • i love when that old couple start dancing thier asses off at 6:10, lol....i used to scream hysterically when i was a kid and the whole room of kids would start dancing as fast as the old folks!

  • Whole Weat! lmfaooo

& honestly 4:20 after that guy parked the skate, I would've beat his ass! LOL what a jerk!

  • I die laughing every time I watch this cartoon!

  • 2:12 man, that sound effect was HILARIOUS!!!

  • 20 years later I now understand the bunnies joke at 4:14.

  • Thanks SO MUCH for posting this!! My sister and I saw this over 40 years ago as little girls, and have been looking for it ever since. Just wonderful!

  • I've always fed the birds after watching this cartoon.

  • Note to self: Never leave your pet male rabbit slipper alone with a female rabbit slipper.

  • LOL AT 2.17 LOL LOL LOL WTF

  • I love the glasses bit. Classic! God bless you Tex Avery

  • hey, there are actually some pretty hilarious gags in here.

  • Tex Avery are the best cartoons are made! That must be 15 years since I've seen this yet, thanks!

  • 1:26 I just realized there using the same hammer head

  • 3:47 - 3:54, 4:05 - 4:11, 4:22 - 4:30 Cracks Me Up Everytime I Watch It!!!

  • My favorite part is at 2:45. Just look at the state of his face, do you need to know anything else about that dude? Listening to him reading the eye chart is one of the funniest things ever. I stopped watching this video about 20 minutes ago and I'm wiping tears out of my eyes.

  • I always rofl on the part where the rollerskate runs over the guys shoe with mud. The third time he parks in the shoe. XD

  • I always get a kick out of this cartoon, no matter how many times I watch it.

I especially dig the part where one elf gets caught under the soling material, and can't get out.

Did anyone notice that the amount of baby bunny slippers isn't even? I only counted nine of them, leaving one of them without a mate.

  • Warner Bros made a version of this using the Nutcracker music -- anyone know if there's a copy of it floating around?

  • there was a part two to this where the elf king came and showed the shoemaker the basics of economics because he was just letting the elves do everything

  • FUNNY CARTOON.

  • Im 24 yrs old and my dad got me hooked on these cartoons!! This one is my all time fave!

  • Oh gosh!goodness,i watched thz like ages ago,,round age 4,haha,wow

  • :) Heartwarming!

  • Do you think anyone will try to remake this cartoon using today's shoes?

  • yeah probably they would put jordans cause that what i see alot of people were

  • @mannecyberguy

I think it would be a fantastic idea!

If they could re-create the "Magic Shoes" scene seen @ 4:30-5:50 by using mostly women's shoes and boots, then that would truly be badass IMPO!!!

  • @barber747 I agree, it would be a really badass idea!!!

  • i love this one!!!

  • I was love this waw amazing

    thank you

  • What is that tune @ 3:03 & 3:24. That not my first time hearing it but I've always wanted to know it's origins. If anybody knows please post.

  • @grdabennett Wonder what the average age on here is? I heard that song on the piano in 1958. I asked my teacher what it was and she told me the same lyrics as moondoggie500 gave you. I was in the 2nd or third grade . . .

  • 2:37 I wonder what he was saying

  • 2 time watch that it reallllly funny man it make me hard laugh.. Put Favorite List! =)!

  • That's one mean looking termite, also very artistic.

  • Some of those poor little elves couldn't catch a break, like that one with the needle and thread, the one shining the shoe, and the other one that kept getting hammered on the head. Still very funny

  • i guess the cobbler and his wife didnt hear all the commotion in the other room, lol, they were making a lot of noise maybe because they were old, lol

  • great cartoon! check out loko animations!

  • I really love this cartoon, especially the scene with the shoes doing a striptease to such a great horn.

  • I ♥ this cartoon!!!!!! Def my fave!!

  • Those little elves are soooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love how overly tounge-in-cheek maudlin the narration is at the beginning, truly hilarious.

  • At 2:37, I love when the other elf puts the bottle over the injured elf's head so that the audience won't hear him cursing!!!

  • I remember this. *thumbsup*

  • Älskar den!! <3 Såg den när jag var liten! X3

    Min och pappas favorit! XD

  • WHOLE WHEAT!!!

  • I remember this! I love the roller skate that goes zooming by. :D

  • If anyone cares, here's the dialogue:

1:25 [clamor] "Say, what's the idea hitting me like that! Why don't you watch..." etc

    1:39 - "7 and a half, double E...Size 7 and one half...Size 7 and a half..." etc

2:13 - "Size 7 and one half..." etc

    "Uh-oh!"

2:47 - "Why you blankety-blank-blank-blank-blank-blankety-blank-blank! You need glasses doc. Now can you read this?"

    "EBDLNPTERCFGUVWXYZ"

"That's fine doc, that's great, that's good! Now try it again. That's fine Doc..." etc

  • This is one cartoon that I cannot stop watching!!!! (Laughs Hysterically)

  • I love it!! Including the narration by Daws Butler & that one elf reading the eye chart! A true Tex Avery classic!

  • juas juas juas juas

  • Those guys made great toons unlike some new ones don't give a @#%^ about it. TEX AVERY RULES! OLD TIMES COOL!

  • Wonderful! LOL Loved the nails in the butt and the ladies boot strip! LOL Great toon!

  • Thanks to the "ladies boot strip," I've had a life longfetish for shoes

  • Thanks to that ladies boot strip, I've had a life-long fetish for shoes!

  • LOL Makes you wonder who came up with the idea for that scene! LOL

  • OMG are u serious ? Did your shoe fetish really start with this cartoon ? Your kidding right ?

  • Actually, you'd be surprised at what can spark one's prurient interests.

Watching the film Beetlejuice sparked my interest in gagged women, reading an old Green Lantern comic sparked my interests in mind control, boobies & petrification and some of the old cartoons like Challenge of the SuperFriends and Groovy Goolies sparked my interests in monsters, magic, genies & transformations.

Studios these days are so afraid of being sued that creativity has become 'taboo' and that's a real shame. -_-U

  • @captjon615

And I thought I was the only one...

  • classic!! love it!!

bunny slippers multiplying was the best part!!

  • I know. The bunny slippers part was funny and adoreable at the same time.

  • All they had to eat in the house was one crust of bread! lol!

  • I LOVE this cartoon!!

I´ve been searched it for years! =)

  • My favorite part is from 4:29-5:51, but the part at 5:32-38 looked kinda gay

  • you mean when there were 2 diffrent boots walking together? i thought that was ok

  • Yea that but it was just the way they rubbed upon each other

And I'd like to re-create something like that; you know, the "magic" shoes? I'd like to take a pair of ladies ankle high boots and create the illusion of them dancing on their own. Amazing results ;-)

  • i kinda liked that part, could have been sexyer looking when they did but hey, it was a kid show back then (and only played for 6 minutes :P

i'd like to see that really :0 but only if its like really good ;P but i hope too see it ^^

  • Actually, those old cartoons weren't made for an audience of kids at all. Along with a newsreel, they were screened alongside the regular main features with a decidedly adult audience in mind. In those days, only Disney produced 'toons that were aimed at children. Not until the advent of television - and especially children's programming - in the 1950s did cartoons come to be considered "kids' stuff."

  • LOL @ 04.16

  • i enjoy much more Heck Allen than Rich Hogan, although here it is a great story.
