fuck rob is right were using the new ones in iraq right now and it is non-compliant with any backpack or camel back. and it weights almost twice as much due to the side sapi plates and its bigger too. it restricts movement and everything.
some a2's are still floating around. I right now am issued an a2. I'm deploying in february, and so we're getting M4's cause we're deploying as convoy security, so being in trucks we need smaller, lighter weight weapons. I hope that answers your question.

Great protection and decent for convoys, but VERY low mobility... gives most guys back problems. Last foot patrol I went on, my left arm was numb after 20 minutes. Screw that... I'd rather go without a vest altogether if they'd let me.
