Great clip-however, MPB is not directly inherited from the father. Genetics ain't that simple. People I know are bald and their fathers had a full head of hair-and viceversa.
@KittyKattyYukiLvr Yeah, it's not that clear yet, but X-linked inheritance is by far the most important factor. Thus, you inherit the "balding genes" from an ancestor on the maternal side of the family.
Male pattern baldness is transferred via the mother. My dad is bald, but my brothers aren't. However, my sons will probably be bald as I am a woman and I've got it in my genes from my dad. I'm the carrier.
@mersthamwannabe I don't think having a full head of hair is a gene per se. I think people just have hair unless they have something in their genes or because of external factors like stress. Either way, the male pattern baldness gene inside me will win out over the full head of hair - my hypothetical sons are doomed :3

But father's baldness gene on the X chromasome doesn't pass onto the son... It's if the mother's a carrier of the baldness gene that the son inherits baldness.
@TempestKiro Yes, I've heard that. Apparently you have to look to your maternal grandfather to know whether you're going to suffer from male pattern baldness or something like that.
