yeah mine went also after 2days! heard there's problems with these amps, had a deluxe b4 this amp but it was too bright on the gain channel so I got a blues jr for a little while. Then I saw a Vox handwired 1x for sale on craiges list and bough it, great amp one of the best I heard yet! and the cleans are very good! I have some sample vids up.
Listen closely, when he uses the bigsby at the end you can hear a string binding on the nut. Pitiful, gretsch should have better quality control on a 2500.00 guitar...
@kissrocks45 My gain channel went out, also. Got a new one for free, and this one i all boomy when you switch channels. a big boff... Thinking about just return it, get my money back and buy a trusty old hot rod deluxe and the generation 3.. much cheaper, and seems more trustworthy. What do you guys think?
nice tones for sure but con struction of the circuit boards along with the micro components would scare alot of people away. buy A Bugera, better value same parts
The amps rocks trust me, I had high gain engl, JVM, this sounds as low as it does loud and doesnt alter your tone like those other amps cranked! stays the same. I changed all the preamp tubes out because the chinese and the Sovteks dont cut it for good tone. I can do EVH to metal pretty good but extreme metal a course. Cleans are awsome, single coils help greatly.
the tone ~ volume issue has to do with the power tubes.
this amp uses 6v6z, which are a smaller type of tube that doesn't require as much input to perform well as let us say... a 6L6 or EL 34
I took that in consideration and bought for myself a peavey classic 50 which uses the small el 84 power tubes. Gives me all the wattage and volume I could ever need, and I can play it in my bedroom:)
A poorly designed circuit. The amp has a return for repair rate of 34%. Save up your money and buy a better fender amp or Blackstar Amp. I play thru 2 Blackface Showman Amps. I wouldn't trade them for ANYTHING!! When buying anything compare prices,quality and serviceability. Ask amp techs, other guitar players. NOT the music store. And most important, listen with your EARS, not your eyes. Good luck!!
