Also, with the software, do you have to tell it the circumference of the former barrel and all that ? Would be nice to have a chat to you about the meat of the programme sometime mate.
The USB interface is the new Pic 18F2550 interface and the software written using the VB.NET template again that I have posted over in the forums.
You tell it the diameter of the inside bobbin barrel and then it works out the circumference for the first layer, then it increments it by the wire size for the next layer and so on etc etc.
@Seacrhing2008 That's really annoying, you've just described my whole program loop for my virtual coil-builder program but yours works and mine doesn't (and yours is REAL!) ;+} Anyway, i WILL pick your brain, i may even send you my source-code, it was written in a compiled BASIC.
Bloody lovely Sean :) I'm in admiration of your programming skills, i tried to write a prog that would tell you you how to wind a coil of a certain inductance but the accuracy ended up way off, even after loads of tweaking. Is there a microcontroller involved or is it all pc-based ?
Excellent Sean! I like it

Hi DC
Not a problem, give me a shout anytime.
