Here's another of many ss clips that gave me a strange dream or 2. In this case it was due to the end when the dog says "ehhhhh the letter I" with that odd look on his face.
I think I remember this - the boy's hairstyle looks familiar, and I think I vaguely remember the 'chasing matches' that the boy and the dog had. In the above sentence, capital 'I' was used four times, meaning that the boy can have two letter 'I's and the dog can have two bones!:)
At 0:54, does the dog say "found two", meaning he'd decided to grab the second bone/I, or "round two", suggesting he enjoyed their little scrap so much he was ready for another.
It's now been confirmed Joe Raposo did do the voice of the dog in this cartoon. Someone who worked closely with him in the 1970's confirmed it by phone yesterday. He's hysterical! "Well, it's MINE...!" Yayyy Joe!
I find this clip one of the funniest ever done. Between the kid's well executed football tackle, the friendly but obnoxious dog and the two of them crashing into the letters trying to claim the "I" very well done. Yet another clip only to be seen here.
Yes this is a great animated one. Very clever about the letter I looking like a bone and a lot of fun things to listen to. I agree, for instance, that the sound at :36 is cool. And I also always loved the dog's laugh "heh heh heh" at :24.
And the conclusion was also always neat to me where the dog pauses: "You know this bone tastes like...
Now THIS is Raposo for sure. I know for a fact he did this agonizingly funny dog.
Note wheezing laugh at 00:24-00:25. Then go to "Funny Farm" clip and check Farmer Donny Bud's wheezing laugh. Same sound.
Bud Luckey doesn't sound like that. Watch "Boundin'" from "Toy Story". THAT voice, singing, narrating, is Bud Luckey. The dog's voice is same as Donny Bud's is same as "That's About The Size" vocalist is same as Joe Raposo's "joke song" voice - see "There's A Bird On Me", if unsure...
I have some segments that you posted but aren't fully framed and in low volume like "A Little Bit At The beginning" and two copies of the Jasper and Julius cartoon where Jasper holds only one leg in the air.
This sketch would have been made in Season 6 (1974-75) or earlier, because I remember it when I was five and I'm 42 now.

At least he didn't have to chase a horse who would mistake the letter U for a horseshoe.

Silly dog. Just because the letter I looks like a bone, doesn't mean it is a bone.

That dog is like Cookie Monster. Both of them seem to know what different letters and numbers taste like.

'It's an L with a ball on top....You've got the mind of a flea!'
Thats my favorite one by far (tho this is very good as well!)

In this clip, for me, it's all about that guitar stroke at 00:36. For some reason that sound has always put me in stitches!
