Heavens! Thanks Alan - I love all this nostalgic stuff and catching up with old chums! Hope you're doing OK. I'm down in the south - keep in touch (via the web site ?) and if you're ever this way......... All the very best. Tim
Absolutely brilliant Tim! Seen bits of your T.V. show but actually last saw you performing live at the "Lanes Bar" on Brighton seafront aeons ago....just after we'd left H.G.S. Hope to catch a performance if we're ever in the Chenonceaux region of the Loire at the same time next year! Alan (Scaz).
@redbirdjazzz Thanks. And a pleasure to introduce you to Chris. One of the best around and constantly touring. If you get the chance to see him live don't don't miss it! Tim
I think I met you in Nurnberg Germany when I was stationed there in the army. I met you and John Winch at the Zundholz club, I believe. Nice to hear you again after all these years. I believe we met in 1977
Cheers, Dave SanSoucie
PS I have been playing professionally since 1980, when I left the service. I lived in Germany a number of years, actully gigged with Winch and Barry Denyer, and played in a series of bands.
Wow ! - thanks Dave, great to hear from you too and yes of course I remember those happy days. Actually renewed a few contacts in Germany and go back to gig from time to time. Barry Denyer made a great guitar for me last year and trying to arrange some joint gigs with Winchie! Nice to hear that you're still at it too - and living where? I'm supposed to be heading back to the States in 2011. All the best. Tim
Sure love the way you make that old Martin talk with those clean, masterful licks and your vocals are truly a Celtic treat...such a beautiful job you've done with Chris's composition...near as good as his own; maybe, as good in your own style, and I know he would love it, too!
I'm working on this piece and will be referring back to your rendition for inspiration and reference.
Thanks so much Richard for your kind comments. This was one of those songs I just had to do the instant I heard it and I've always been a fan of Mr. Smither! Good luck with your own version and don't hesitate to get in touch if you need a helping hand. Thanks again. Tim
Nice!! Really nice. You did honor to a wonderful song and a great songwriter. Well played, and well sung - The Martin sounded beautiful clean and crisp.
Hi Tim.......I love the song 'Leave the Light On'......can you give any info on the chords you are playing. I was looking for an email address but couldn't see one here. Pete form Somerset.....uk
Great music and I am interested in the double pick guard . I have never seen that on a Matin . I have a 00018MC and an older o18 from 1949 . Great sound and performance here. All the best , Guy
Many thanks Guy - the pick guard was added by a guitar maker many years ago in Brighton when my thumb was beginning to make a serious hole! I've calmed down a bit since though.
Thanks a lot - my little 00018 was a gift from my Dad in 1972. He's long gone but his guitar sounds better and better - I must try and work on a better quality sound vid!
Nice one. Compelling performance and engaging vid Tim. The Martin and your playing sound better than ever (but you both look a bit scuffed round the sound hole). Looking forward to more
My old 000-18! 1972 and still going strong.
