cold showers make the body loose energy. the body must keep it's temperature which is 36.5C .Cold water when hits the body has a temperature at least 25 degrees lower! the body immediately uses it's on energy reservoirs in order to maintain the 36.5 Celsius at all cost ! dispersion of energy is not wise and people confuse the feeling of excitement felt after a cold shower with a gain of power. shower should not excite, it should clean and be slightly warm as blood temp. !

The feeling of excitement that follows a cold shower is not a gain of energy.rather than a lost of energy. this energy waslost to keep in order to keep body heat at all cost . after this, there is a tremendous sense of fatigue why?because. the body demands sleep in order to regain energy's lost people who do this are skinny. they are not robust and can not get muscles .no energy stocks !
@herschelwalker101 I don't dispute that the cold water takes energy from your system to support the internal regulation of your temperature. This is the point, it ignites your metabolism and gets you burning, direct cold applied to the area between your shoulder blades fires the brown adipose tissue up and aids in fat loss. The other point of this exercise is to build mental toughness and start your day overcoming challenge.
Papaciito, what an awesome story, thanks for sharing it. It is an invigorating feeling the cold water, I had a great cold shower this morning which cranked me into action. You are right in saying it stays with you all day, the fact you overcame that challenge.
For my birthday, l went to the gorgeous Haixa resort in Punta de Mita, Mexico, with a great pool and very cold water this time of the year, l was not a chicken and actually dived in...l am here to tell you that something happened, it woke me up, to my senses. l wanted to start with cold splashes of water to my face but l thought about what kind of line that would be on the calendar and l just jumped in full caveman to the cold shower and l feel different, in a good way. it stays with you all day
@patrix123321 in Quebec! damn I imagine it's very cold there! good effort and remaining consistent for a year! I did consistently for about 2 months but then have been up and down. You have inspired me to get back into it and remain committed!

I'll reach the 1 year plateau in early March, and I don't intend to stop at this point :D
I live in Québec, so the water temperature is quite intimidating during winter. No matter what it takes... haha
