Don't hear many pop songs today with this kind of soul or character.Ace's How Long is similar, from the same period.I guess back then,it was accepted you could be a serious writer and a serious musician in pop music. It's so slick and packaged now,the opposite of this.Something honest and a little ragged around the edges like this song,if it's as good as this, will have a long life.
I never thought I'd hear this song anywhere but on my 1st record album, a K-Tel collection. I played that album, and this song, to death! I can hardly breathe, listening to this song and pretending that I'm 13 again. God, I'm old!
Toronto, you always rocked the fuckin house, the Stones camp in your yards,Bowie and Iman wander Yorkville 24 hours a day, without stupid bodyguards...Sorry, my Mexican lady is calling...just imagine?
Classic, Iconic tune from one of the best bands to arise from Canada....Steel River..You'll still be in my song.....Cheers

When I first heard it back in the day, I honestly thought it was either Neil Young or Mick Jagger/Rolling Stones.

CJ, I saw your comment on one of Rich's Steel River posts - thanks for pointing me to this good old song from an even better album.
Great post Sean or John...

That singer is a Mike Jagger's fan, obviously.
