The Omega VRT will make soy milk, although you will need to cook the milk at some point. Its not designed to grind coffee. The Omega 8004 and 8006 will do that task.
Thanks John. I upgraded my Hurom HU-100 1st generation with the white plastic screen to the new 3rd generation amber ultem screen. After 18 months of use, the original screen developed cracks. I also had to upgrade the bowl, to be compatible with the new screen. The cost for the new bowl and screen was $85.00.
The Hurom is an excellent juicer. The Hurom bowl assembly needs to be periodically soaked in dilute chlorine bleach solution to remove excessive stain build-up and mold. The mold builds up on the silicone wiper blades and plug. The wiper blades and plug need to be removed when soaking. Push inward on the blades and slide them out of their slots for removal.
... When i first started I had no problem removing the fibre with the running water, but then it got stuck and took an effort to remove it. I found that you should NOT juice fibrous things last eg celery I had read that you should so that you get all the juice out that you can from the other less fibrous things BUT this is wrong do the celery near the beginning and then the others like carrots and beets last, they will help push most of it through so no problem cleaning the bowl
I bought the 3rd generation Hurom about 4 weeks ago. I love it. I am juicing all these wonderful veggies from the farmers market. There was a learning curve. It took awhile to figure out how to remove the squessing screw easily. since you screw it in going clockwise, thought you would remove it by going counter clockwise, but this was hard to get going. I now just lift it by poking it from the bottom......
Hi John...can you purchase the coarse screen as an accessory from Hurom? is HUROM honoring the ORIGIONAL 10 year warrantee if you purchased your HUROM before the new model came out?
Im not sure if they are offering it as an accessory. YES, they are honoring the 10 year warranty if you purchased your machine BEFORE they changed it. They can track it by serial number.
I believe those foods should be viewed more as medicine vs food, so I dont eat them too often. A quick google search with garlic and yoga will reveal some eye opening information.
Thanks for telling us about the New Hurom Juicer, but you didn't demo it, LOL. But You've pretty much sold me on the Omega VRT350 anyway, that's my next juicer for sure.
Hi John, I got Omega to send me an ultem screen and bowl for my Vert 330 and it's a big improvement, but I still get some leaking around the base of the unit. I've watched ever single one of your videos and I follow your instructions to a T, but I still get juice leaking on the base. It's not a huge deal, but it is a little messy. Any ideas on how I can stop this?
@riskmandel1 I've got this juicer and the only time I've had this problem is when the little yellow plug on the bottom (that goes in the pulp shoot) wasn't tightly in place. Is yours tightly in place when you juice?
@riskmandel1 i have this problem too dude with my Hurom juicer. its just a natural thing and the juice never seems to get too close to the center motor, i think its all good.
@riskmandel1 I also own the vert and had the same issue. Call Omega and they will send you a whole new bowl. The seal on the bowl does not last as long as it should.
Can the omega be used to grind coffee or to make soy milk?

Can you buy the "windowwipers" of the hurom as parts? Within a year they are eaten by the fruits...
trompacoable1 3 weeks ago
Yes, they can be purchased from the manufacturer. Over long use, I have not seen my wipers wear, but they definitely get discolored.

With only the small hole screen for the Hurom, will it still make banana "icecream"?

Do you ever juice onions, shallots, or garlic, and add them to other mixtures of plants that you jucie?
jazz61021 1 year ago
I rarely juice those. You CAN juice them. I rarely also eat those things.
rawfoods 1 year ago
@rawfoods
Why do you rarely eat then? Is something wrong with them (i.e., is there something unhealthful about them)?

Did you try to lube the silicone bushing for the motor (on the bowl) with a little cooking oil?
