To anyone complaining about this song: It saddens me to think anyone is
waiting to shoot you down, no matter what/why/how. Some ppl fly flags of hatred and discontent, just for the fuck of it. Ignore them, and fly through the sky--till some asshole shoots you down. It's a sad statement, damn shame. Fly on my wayward sons, and don't let their verbal arrows pierce your spirit, nor your resolve. Haters are just waiting to self-destruct. They're weak in spirit & soul. Left alone they wither away.
This band was 1st concert I ever saw,at Nassau Coliseum, NY.I was 4th row...they TORE IT UP.I was floored, I was blown AWAY., it was 1972 I think.Times were different, we were there for quality music, and we were given QUALITY music, no Dancing, prancing, preprogramed smut, writen by a team of computer freaks...this was freakin ROCK/ROLL Paul Rodgers was at the top of his game, the band was smokin.......kids today will never understand the purity
As I listen to this, I wonder where singular works like this originates in the minds of the composers. There are so few of this quality throughout music history.
Music today has no meaning, music in the last 40 years has had great meanings. 60s was the awesome start, 70s was GREAT, 80s were good and 90s started the whole punk theme. We should all bring back great meaning into songs and not just crap beats and stuff. Re-post this on new songs and old songs and BRING BACK ROCK AND ROLL!
This song was first played for me by my boyfriend, sitting on a big rock in Tahoe National forest some 33 or so years ago. This song for me is my life song, Thanks Alan!
@bearing44 guitar skill is overrated. you can be the most technical skilled guitar player there is but it doesnt mean your ever going to do anything with it, or that you can even write a song.
@iDance1230; that is a very beautiful thang to say and do and im sure he will remember that for years to come.. congrats for you if you are getting married!!!
reminds me of my wife..EMILY...she loved this song ..she passed away with cancer..such a soothing song and i can invision her walking on the beach..i miss you my wife my fishing buddy ,love you
My dad used to play this song on his record and put me on his feet and we would dance to this song in my living room. He doesn't know it, but it's going to be the song I play for my Daddy-Daughter dance at my wedding.
@iDance1230 ahhh that is so beautiful. My Dad and used to sing it when I was little, I hope you get to do it xx my Dad suddenly passed away last year, tell your dad everyday how much you love him, this song melts my heart when I hear it now. so many wonderful times xx
I feel your pain man, take this song as you and his song and use it to remind you of all the good things man,the good times..The victories you shared.
And may god make the time that you grieve pass quickly away.
I like to think that now is the time when your brother looks down and watches you-and that you should(and WILL) make him proud!.If i could give you a hug i would man.God speed

@wahkee123 jkI've had some good times with my mum and dad by playing songs that I remember growing up to because of them. Enjoy those good times when you can.
Me and my dad love this song, whenever we hear this song i sing it no matter what, my dad.....he just sits back relaxes and listens to this song. I'm a 13 year old girl and my dad is 50.
jikhml.. just saw your post.. so very sorry for your loss.. hopefully someday this will bring you sweet memories of your brother..I am best friends with my big brother and I dread the day I will be going through what you are.. bless you .. I hope you find peace in your memories ..
Everyday I read music blogs, check newspapers and watch music TV shows in the hope of a band with as much ability as Bad Company. If we could only break free from the manufactured pop garbage we have to live with today and see the beauty in great music again the world would be a better place.
PS - @jikhml - That was a very passionate comment about your brother Bill. Im sure every music fan watching this video will send our wishes to him.
@jlkhml You hit the nail right on the head my friend. The instense personal experiences and emotions that a great song gives us is what makes music so special. This really is a beautiful song. God bless your brother and may he fly free forever
my brother was 46 when killed in a auto accident.he played this for my aunts in w va. 10 years ago.i have it on video tape, would love to add it to the tube, when i can figure it out,its beautiful,,,,
@jlkhml thanks for sharing, as sorry I am for your loss I think it`s nice to see some comments with meaning behind them like yours and not random jibberish you see alot of on youtube.
@jlkhml my wife passed away two days before this last x-mas but I don't have any words of wisdom to drop. I'm trying to figure all this out myself. Good luck to you brother.
@jlkhml Oh Sweetheart I share your pain, and am thinking about you. I think it's true to say that for so many there is no peace on earth, but they find it somewhere, just not here. I think it's fair to say that Bill has peace now, where he is, and I pray that this in turn gives some peace to your grieving heart <3
@jlkhml My brother too...he was a child of 60's who drank far too much and imbibed far too many drugs and he passed away four years ago ( I am not suggesting that your brother did the same) but one of my brother's favourite songs was this......but he was an innocent soul who appreciated good music as I am sure your brother did too...and I miss him very much, as I am sure you do too, every day...RIP xx
jlk, sorry to hear of your loss bud, im 53 and as i feel my time growing closer( cancer, copd, emphysema and a truckload of other problems) i feel the significance of the music ive listened to over m y life and the songs that still touch my soul, this is one such song that reminds me my brothers are in the wind waiting, and one day ill be going home...

@jlkhml My condolences on the loss of your beloved brother. I also know the pain of a lost loved one. Your comment makes this song all the more meaningful. Peace be unto you and yours...
@jlkhml I know what you mean I have lost both of my sisters one was 36 and the other 44, this song made me think of both of them for some reason.....we all three use to listen to Bad Company growing up.....
@soonerdarlin Heck yeah!!! What a place! I've never heard this song before in all the time I've been listening to these guys! That's what I get for never buying one of their albums. This is a gem!!!
I absolutely LOVE this song very, very much, it brings Tears to my eyes and It is my Most Favourite song by Bad Company who I am blessed to have seen Live in concert. For me personally, Paul Rodgers is the Greatest Vocalist in the world and Paul Kossoff is the Greatest Guitarist in the world.
@jlkhml Sweet Jlk~ I returned today because I needed to hear this song. It's then I saw your comment. You brought me to my knees. I wept. I understand as much as I possibly can without actually being you. Re: the "shutted door" reference; I meant your Bill's in a place where larceny of the heart's an unknown concept..Please read my post again, I promise it will make sense. It's people like you who grace this world w/your presence. No sorrow equates callousness.
I have always liked this song but a few years ago I work off shore on some oil platforms and this song took on a whole new meaning to me.....love it!!
@roadragecbrrf3 I've traveled a bit in my life and I'll tell you a truth. People who're drawn to water are always gentle souls with an intrinsic spiritual compass. I've found the same to be true of equine lovers. Regardless, I understand the duality meaning. In Seattle I sat on a pier. Perched on a post was a seagull. Call me crazy, but the bird seemed to understand I was admiring its tenacity to claim that spot. It could have flown at anytime. Only until I stood did she fly..an hr. later.
This is just a really good song!!! I don't give a shit about music politics! This is just a really bitchin tune!! Got a 10 Challenger and did a 1080 degree burnout in the parking lot tonight and after made out with my girl to this somewhere else!! It does not get better than that!!!!
I love Bad Company songs but till now I never really appreciated just how good a singer Paul Rodgers is. So much depth and soul he sings with. They are an under rated band. Great lyrics, great music, and some of the greatest vocals! Thanks for all who posted these songs.
I do hope none will attempt to really shoot down the "Seagull". To do so will be tantamount to what happened in classical poem: "I shot the albatross"; after which a great crisis set in. An interesting tune.
Someone that I should have married, played this for me, on his guitar, almost 20 years ago. I will always and forever have that regret. I am sorry David, so very sorry...
StrongmanManNY, Yes, the song is phenomenal. Also like Led Zep. I just think the words are so awesome. Thanks for the comment. And again shortbusrider1108 thanks for posting.
@Lobsterlady2362 Yes, good song and band. I had the pleasure of meeting and working ( security ) with their manager, the late Peter Grant, when he bought Led Zep to NYC a long, long time ago.
I was truly pleased when I had the oportunity to see Bad Co. in the mid 90's. I took my 15 year old daughter with me. It was an outdoor concert with Bad Co., Billy Squire and Styx, Oh wow....I was in heaven! Everyone was up on their feet and singing along. A day I wish I could repeat MANY times. It is said that music like what we had in the 60's and 70's isn't done anymore. :(
if u hit disslike u suck!
