I don't mean to offend anyone but I just have a problem with psychiatrists. They try to "cure" people from illnesses but they perscriebe medications that are even more addictive and destructive than things like alcohol. Alcohol is bad but psychiatrists don't really help with anything. They just put you on drugs that screw you up even more! Many psychiatrists don't even have the social skills to actually connect with their patients and get to know them as a person. They just perscriebe drugs!
Symptom? Addition psychiatry? will see if there is any real science behind their statements are just making things up. Problem drinker? better situation what the difference if it is a disease or not. That is a mutt issue whether it is a disease. This addictions clinicians are generally full of rubbish. If there is no problem. I drink fall down get up, no problem ;(
I did an interview with author Dr Simon Casey who specializes in helping people with addictions, mental illness and relationships. You can listen to it for free at my youtube channel. I hope this helps people out there that need information and support.
Be careful here, because i am a final stage alcoholic and i seldom have felt like a drink in the morning. So feeling a need for a morning drink is no test. But if you do feel a need for a morning drink, then you definitely are an alcoholic. In the morning, i usually never want to drink again. But by 4 PM, i am ready to reward myself just one more time.
When i have stopped drinking periodically, i notice most people are not drinking. When i drink, it seems that everyone is drinking with me.
truth is there's no such thing as alcoholism/addiction. so-called alcoholic drinking/using is just one expression of a compulsive personality. the key to lasting and satisfying recovery, therefore, isn't simply to stop drinking and using but, rather, to move beyond the entire compulsive lifestye. takes more work than your typical recovery program but well worth it in the end. anything short of this will leave you struggling with depression and anxiety, as well as relapse.
