  • its a credit to you guys that u got this old truck running and out of the forest! are you going to restore it?

  • @ndown15 we always planed to restore it, but with kids and life full already we have not much time to do it. i guess since it sat for so many years it can wait a litle more ;)

we try our best to run it at least 5 times a year and leaves it under a tarp. we have all brakes parts to make them run like new, just dont have time to do it !!! lol... (yes, it doesnt have any brakes for now, oups)

  • beautiful project for restoration

  • Where is the gasoline tank?

  • @sicopr2003 behind/under the cab normaly there is two, there is a switch on the dash to read level from one or the other, and huge brass lever on each tank to select which one feed the truck. we removed one to get it cleaned so we wont use the red one that sits on the dash right now. surprisingly the one we removed was somehow clean inside, and not rusted. the level sender is still operative as well !! good stuff. i will wire everything back as factory to read fuel level.

  • Motor sounds good.

  • The sawmill where I worked at back in the mid 70's had two of these old Blitz's with fixed crane jibs and winches on the back to cart mill tailings to the fire pit.

One of them had a broken engine mount and every time you took off the engine would toque twist and the positive terminal of the coil would touch the chassis and liven up the whole truck.

    continued below.

  • The Boss's big fix was to tape a piece of rubber over where it touched to insulate the chassis. It worked a treat but every time a new guy wanted to run the tailings over to the pit someone would remove the rubber first. The poor new guys had no idea what hit em. It was great fun to watch them squeal as they got zapped through the bare metal frame of the seat and through the bare metal steering wheel.

aaaaahhhhhhh those where the good old days.

  • 0:06 I would check the motor mounts after that one lol

  • @1tirefryer they are as good as the rest of the truck.
