Nice . .CUV... one more big thing.. the tiguan even in the basic model has more torque (28.6 kg.m) that the others. Here some numbers.. (CRV 22.4 kg.m), Santa Fe 23 kg.m), Jeep Patriot (23 kg.m), Kia Sportage (18.8 kg.m) MitOutlander (23.7 kg.m), Nissan Qashqai (20.2 kg.m), SUbaru Forester (20 kg.m), Grand Vitara 2.0 (18 kg.m), Toyota rav 4 (22.8 kg.m)......etc.. etc...
I gotta tell you folks -- I bought a Tiguan a month ago despite the price tag (approx. 35K canadian). I'm not a car person at all and I'm truly enjoying this VW. I've never had a German car before and I'm beginning to understand now what the fuss is about. It's stable, zippy, safe and fun. It's the perfect size, not to feminine or masculine. The sunroof on the Comfortline is awesome, I open it practically every day. I know in Europe VW's no big deal, but I feel like I'm driving luxury!
the best compact suv , the cr-v sucks , because have 170 hp and his engine have 2.4 liters , the rav4 too , but i like the toyota little 4x4 , the tiguan have 170 hp and is 2.0 , and best of that , the sport is 200 hp and still 2.0 , and with turbo!
i am getting this car dont know witch motor i should buy 150 or 170hp not so much of a differance really. They say 150 makes enough power. Little tips will help thanx.
Quite good review, but please define a complete flat loading Space! This wasn't one! Of course, you can put in a Bike or some Ski but this isn't really the best for Grannys 200yr-old Sideboard ^^
lambos are cool but so expensive...not really a typical car someone will buy. volkswagen are nice but not sure about their reliability on their cars...only time will tell for the new cars =/
hate to burst you bubble but im pretty sure they do not own all those manufactors. Audi and Vw own have ties with each other they have nothing to do with vw as a company. There is rumors that Vw is going to be bought out by porsche. Porsche and Vw have history in the 70 with the 914 which had vw emblems all over the porsche. I had one when i was in high school. As for the high ends I really doubt it that they are owned by vw they might have ties but not owned.
ho hum, another Euro crossover. We're sticking with the fantastic Subaru Forester AWD XT. Great Car, Great Price, awesome acceleration (beats a Porsche Boxster 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.
its not like another crossover its an suv. Its does not look like a crapy van/suv. The forester looks more of a crossover. I did like the forester and than they changed the body style to the new ed. boxter engine alright. Just wait tell they put the so called r36 if it ever comes out or the r32 engine in the car will smoke the forester
Just watch your speed. I bought the Tig + had fun for the first few weeks with it's 'zippy-ness'. Then I got a speeding ticket -- first time in 20 years of driving. Damn!
I'm not much of a fan of SUV's, but this is another good product from VW. It seems that those still made in Germany, have the European market , more excited about the brand, as I trust they have not dropped in reliability, such as those in the U.S. market , which are made in Mexico.

The most reliable car I have ever had. And with the 2.0 Turbo, its not slow either. Beats any other crossover.

What's with the nice navy blue colour? Are there more colours available in Europe? The only blue available in Canada is ugly, porn-star blue.

I've heard this car needs premium fuel -- true or false?
Maybe you auto-enthusiasts can help me: Tiguan or Rav4?

Defenately Tiguan

Ya, I test drove it and I'm beginning to understand what the fuss is all about. I just wish that Comfortline model weren't so expensive!
Thanks.. :)

Not very often do you see Volkswagon make SUV's. They often make your small compact cars like the golf gti and lupos
darkwizard22 4 years ago
If you go to the factory that makes the Touareg you can see VW making SUVS all day long if you want.

Not all VWs sold in the US are made in Mexico,
some are made in Brazil and Passats are made in Germany.
