In the past i could understand why people would look to do these repair techniques themselves (saves YOU money), but thesedays, we all know the consoles arent built to last (which makes THEM money), so why bother buying into a product which wont last?

I left xbox and all my good friends behind too, but hey, im not going to keep buying these crap consoles just to play games with them, so i bought a PS3 and made new friends, and its much better now. and i dont even have to pay to play my games!

@clitmint regardless of how bad the system is, PS3's online community is garbage. XBox is and will forever be the best system for online gaming. We pay for xbox live and get what we pay for. You dont pay for the online network for PS3 and its shit. You can't play any games online because its so laggy that you cant move and Sony systems are just as likely to tear up if not more. 360's are a much better system for online gaming hands down.

ps3 is way better then xbox. 1. ps3 has better graphics 1080p. 2. free online. 3. online servers are never down. 4. no such thing as the ring of death. 5. can go on the internet like u could on a computer. customize your background. 6. doesnt need a bulky power box with an anoying light on it. 7. can play blue ray dvds. 8. dont need to buy an external hard drive 9. running noise is a lot quieter 10. you can plug in memory cards from cameras and other things not just usb plugs.

holy cow, erasers instead of thermal plaster paris? you will fuck the VRM chips on the board if you do this... just get some good thick thermal pads and stick them on, even better you can get mini heatsink kits (the ones for cooling graphics card VRM's) and use some thermal paste to stick them on.

I have fixed hundreds of consoles usually the xclamp replacements but I have yet to see any console that had these little pads on them? This is now the 2nd youtube video I saw these being replaced?? What year is the console as in 5 years I have never seen those pads on a console not arcade,premium, elite or any kind??

@204sparky amen homez! PS network is unreliable and laggy. It may be free but there's a reason for that. It's because there's never any money put into it to better it. We pay for XBL and they put money into making it better. We get updates 2-3 times a year and the PS network only gets updated when hacked or crashed. Sony should stick with making TV's and radio's because their new consoles are shit. PS1 was great, Ps2 was ok, PS3 = worse console ever created and I've owned everything.
