  • Aloha from Hawaii! Mahalo for posting all your videos. I was clueless with (ZERO) information, but thanks to you and to all of the preppers I've gained so much knowledge :) Very grateful for your time & dedication to posting all the info. God bless! P.S. We also use Azuki beans for deserts. Mix it with condensed milk, brown sugar and heat. This mixture to be used as a filling.. just a thought :)

  • WOW! Lifes good. YYEEEEAAHHH!

  • Man you are such a wealth of knowledge! I'm gonna have to try some, thanks.

  • Lol, sounds like you are outnumbered by the female persuasion to a point of surrender brother.

  • Amen. Thank you!

  • I AM TOO DIGGIN YER INFO!!! I DARE SUBSCRIBE!

  • Mixed some of this stuff up the other night. Used another bean but it was pretty good.

  • I made this tonight - cooked the beans too long, so it was mushy... but tasted delicious !!! We added some chilli flakes and used some of the mixture for tacos - fantastic ! and really cheap - 1Lb of beans costs £1.00 in UK ( Tesco ) - I'm gonna try and dry out the rest of the mixture, so I can shape into patties - I still want that burger :) I didn't use a blender, just chopped everything finely, and used a potato masher - worked great ! Many thanks Yankeeprepper.

  • Ingenious! You are definitely a powerhouse of information.

  • you should make shtf cookbook I would buy it

  • Your kids sound Cute

  • i havent found a mill around me that has adzuki beans but found 35lb buckets for $68 online...worth buying?

  • Thanks for the recipe and other details. One question, how well will they do on a grill, would they fall apart? Thanks again.

  • @ncmmcn Freeze the patties before grilling.

  • I wanted to like this video because I think bean burgers are a great idea...BUT, when SHTF we may not have electricity to run our food processors on. Can this be done on a hand powered grinder?

  • @tackettsmillfarm I suppose it could be done with a fork or rock if need be. Or build an off grid system

  • I've been making bean burgers for years! I'm glad you are too. They are great!

  • if you put some beef flavor powder in it, it might taste like meat.

  • Those were awesome!! Mind over matter, no problem with those burgers!!

  • @yankeeprepper just made these for dinner tonight, a little more messing around on the texture and cilantro amounts for my personal taste and I would have to say these were an overall hit here. Thanks brother!

  • The bean burgers look great, but unfortunately they are not a source of complete proteins that humans require on a consistent basis. Beans are a complete protein if combined with a grain. You could try to add rice or corn to the recipe or make sure you eat complementary proteins alongside or or at the next meal. This is why a lot of cultures that are meat-poor eat beans and rice. Aside from animal products, quinoa and soy are sources of complete protein.

  • Hey thanks for sharing that idea. They look delicious and easy !!

  • I love cilantro, i like to grow my own

this is a cool recipe, im gonna have to try this one.

  • You good sir Yankee Prepper are a real man!

  • How do you prevent it from getting stale tasting when storing for years?

  • @pkrska Sealed in mylar, O2 absorbers,

  • THAT LOOKS SO GOOD

  • nice job and good recipe thx.

  • what was the name of the farmer you got them from. I am south of albany

  • @avianphlu5397 I have no idea and it's been over 2 years since the harvest and buy.

  • @Yankeeprepper

How do you spell the beans you use to make Marshal Law Burgers?

    Thanks,

  • @JoiJoy1969 adzuki

  • AMEN:

It's so good to hear families still praying at mealtime, or anytime for that matter. May God Bless You and yours.

When My people(Christians) will humble themselves and pray and seek my face...THEN will I hear from Heaven, I will forgive their sins and I will HEAL THEIR LAND ! ! !

    Jesus is my God, yours?

  • hey my man, i'm with you all the way and congratulate you on being prepared to provide and to protect your family ( which is your job anyway). however, i want to point out that not all protein or fiber or whatever is the same. milk and yogurt protein cannot repair your body as well as chicken or beef protein, they're different types of protein. i got the info from the University and my father who is also an educated man. just lettin you know, you cant replace meat with beans.

  • @krakerkiller888 You can strain gnats on this if you want to. No protein will kill you quicker than some protein, but like I said in the video; although I would rather have meat, there will be very little of it in a SHTF or another Great Depression. With that being said, I disagree with your father, educated or not, there are plenty of links and research done and documented that a vegetarian diet is better for you.

  • Just made these with canned black beans and they were great even my son who hates beans ate a whole burger with a smile now I can finally add some dry beans to my stockpile knowing the people will eat it thanks:)

  • Yankeeprepper, In a shtf scenario, I think that storing whey protein would be a good idea. The type of powder that body builders use. You can get a 2 lb. jar at Walmart for around $16.00. One scoop provides 25 grams of protein. Depending on your needs and activity, a jar would last a month or two easily if used on a daily basis. Much much longer if just used as a supplement. And the shelf life is a couple of years I think, perhaps longer? Thought I'd share for whatever it was worth.

  • Making these tonight!!! Good for those of us workin' at knockin' the weight off as well.

  • Super duper and very tasty thanks, more like these....okay more guns too :) a mans gotta eat!

  • Made your Marshal Law burgers tonight for myself and my wife. I substituted lentil beans because they do not have to be soaked overnight, and you only have to boil them for 30 minutes. In a SHTF scenario, the fuel savings and time savings would be enormous. They were delicious and my wife likes them better than meat. I added Monterei Seasoning, onion powder, chili powder, soy sauce, mustard and ketchup! Mmmmm All on homemade hand ground wheat bread!

    Thanks YankeePrepper

  • Awesome Yankeee .. Thanks for the recipe. I hope I get to try that out sometime. I like how your a family man devoted to Christ. Amen Brother! Keep doin' watcha doing and God Bless!

  • mustard goes on burgers, fries, in chilli, on a ham sammich` heck if its nasty jazz it up with mustard and its edible

  • @bjizzle123 This is the TRUTH.

  • The prayer was uplifting. It is nice to see good people doing well. God bless you and yours!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on survival!

  • hmm,, Se ve Ricoo, Gracias YankeePreper !

y te sigoo mucho en tus Videos-

    Its Looks Good! thanks Yankeepreper

i have seen Alot of your Videos

  • I was looking for some bean recipes. Thanks!!

  • Those look great, YP! Definitely adding this one to the recipe box. I think my family will love them.

  • hot souce is good with beans soup fires tacos burgers any thing green hey i even drink it no really i some times drike a hole glass bottle with hot souce

  • Wow, those DO look like burgers. My only comment other than that is that neither mustard, nor mayo should ever touch a burger. Say it ain't so YP. Then again, you're out in the midwest, when I take road trips out there and stop at McDonald's they always hit me with the mustard, oh how that irritates me.

  • @RightWingCon81 You have lost your MIND! lol...mustard goes on everything, even french fries and especially baked beans. Ketchup can be left off a burger, but without mustard it's not even considered food. (so there)

  • @Yankeeprepper Mustard on fries? Man, that's rough. Mustard should only go on a hotdog, or if I'm feeling irish, on some cabbage and corned beef. Other than that, keep it away. To each his own.

  • @RightWingCon81 what about sardines in mustard sauce?

  • @Yankeeprepper No joke, but I HATE that stuff, When I was a kid my dad bought like 20 cans by accident (he was preppring back in the day, we called it being cheap, LMAO) it was by accident and we didn't let anything go to waste. Man I hate that mustard goop. I'll also let mustard slide on German food btw.

  • @RightWingCon81 my husband puts mustard on mashed potatoes

  • @bellareina05 Mustard is for REAL men.

  • @Yankeeprepper I hate Ketchup i like spicey brown mustard

  • it looks good thats half the battle i gotta try it for you to get full credit. keep up the good work

  • Holy crap! it actually looks like burgers! Haha, they are red like raw meat, and dark like cooked meat when cooked. Pretty funny. Thanks for all the videos!

  • holy crap.. it actually looks like burgers.. :O

  • @yankeeprepper did you get the beans from rochester MN?

  • Looks so good lol thanks god bless your famlily

  • These martial law burgers look tasty. I wish I had come across your videos a while ago. Very cool. thanks

  • Sounds great, gonna try it on my kids w/o telling them, see what they think. I bet it would work for sloppy joes too. Thanks

  • Hi, YP. Can't tell if you use 2 cans of DRAINED black beans or whether you dump it all in there, liquid and all. Thanks.

  • @prepperfrau drained

  • that is sweet!! never would have thought of that!!

  • It's always good to have a plan, and I see you are ready.

  • I like how you aren't a cooped up lonly person. I've seen and heard of many people who have wasted their lives by WAITING for a SHTF situation.

You have a job, a family, and you know more than the average Joe.

    Props,

    Future Prepper.

  • Thanks for the vid. The girls yelling yeah! at the end was cute. Those things really do look like hamburgers.

  • Damn, made me pretty hungry.

  • What kind of food processor are you using? I used one 15oz can of Black Beans, one small Onion, one carrot and some cilantro and the mixture is too dense. The blades just spin inside of the mixture and they don't come together.

  • I liked the 7:21

  • You may be a genius. How do you spell it, adzuki? I think I'll try to find some of those beans. Good video.

  • @MrShannon888 Alot of people call themselves christians and have no idea what the WORD actually says. You are a foolish man and common sense may not be your strong point. Luke 22:36 "But now, he said, take your money and a traveler's bag. And if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one!"

1st Timothy 5:8 "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

  • This is amazing. Thanks for the time, God bless brother.

  • Where can i get seeds to grow them?

  • i like to use a variety of beans, spices, and herbs to create a bean soup that i use all the time. the best part is that all the ingredients are dry.

    it is best with rice

  • Awesome, I have about three hundred pounds of black beans because my wife likes them. Thanks.

  • lmao fema camp tacos and martial law burgers.. thats funny dude.

  • Hi. Do you have alternate sources of electricity such as solar or wind power to run your electric equipment?

  • @julie03276 Check my play list for "making your own electricity"

  • thanks man!

  • Hell of an idea....did this with pintos my self....it got a little pasty but fried well and worked out good ....just to see.......great idea

  • Yuuummm X-)

  • You made beans look like hamburgers ... and then you got your kids to eat vegeables.

    .

If this were the 1600's you'd be on trial for witchcraft ! ;o)

    .

    Awesome SHTF recipe!

  • Were can I buy these bulk for cheap?.

  • great stuff man.. A+

  • That looks great and the product stores for years.

    I will check on it.

  • Watching videos about getting ready for a SHTF scenario sometimes becomes robotic, detached, academic. Your wee ones at the end are a sharp, beautiful reminder of our responsibility to them. Nice.

  • how did they taste you cut the vid to soon

  • My dream is a home in the woods near a river or lake and to be completely self sufficient. if a river i would have an electric water turbine for power.

  • @FreestyleBoy2010 RUN! the sky is falling chicken little............

  • Thank you for this!!! I'm totally going to try this today!!

  • Looks tasty, just a tip from an old chef here. Store your beans as airtight dry and dark as possible. Preferably vacuum. After about 18 months they realy start to deteriorate so you will have to be creative and adjust recipes in order to enjoy them. Old beans are still edible but are often plain awfull. Anyway I don't think they will last you for years, but it is still a great idea.

  • We made these tonight with lentils. We felt healthy full and went for a walk afterwards. These are going to be a regular staple in our diet. Thanks for the recipe!

  • Fantastic Recipe Thanks !

    and God bless.

  • I'm happy to see a more vegetarian message from someone who is not a vegetarian. You are bringing up the fact that civilization and human populations actually gain the most nutrition from plant sources percentage-wise. Plant sources are more efficient for storage and consumption. Be prepared to grow The Three Sisters together, they will produce nutritionally dense foods quickly: corn, squash, and beans. Understand how to nixtamalize the corn to free up the nutrition locked within.

  • @toounfazed

i agree 100% but i still like meat.

  • do you ever boil them with a bit of bicarb to crack the beans and remove the gasious components??

    cool vid

  • @80spodcastchannel Sprout your beans and grains before preparing them to eat, and that will not only free up the nutrition within, it will also help with the gas issues. That's why your grandmother may have soaked beans over a two day period before cooking them. If she didn't she should have.

  • @yankeeprepper hav u tried using the adzuki beans in stew? They along with black beans are pretty good. Btw, if you sprout them they tend to not be as gasseous. :-)

  • Lentils and alfalfa are good too and easy to spout and you can always kill a rabbit or doves and quail for quick animal meat. Quail are stupid and easy to kill. Here in Texas they're everywhere.

  • @misspickletoes soybeans dont have the protien adzuki beans have and men really shouldnt eat alot of soy product. It has an organic hormone like nutrient similar to estrogen. In hpt its used and I believe is called estriol. It tends to screw up a guys testosterone levels.

  • Show your face we cant see you lollol

  • Adzukis are good!

  • GENIUS

  • how do u spell the name of that bean???

  • ADZUKI BEAN

    It is an asian bean.

  • @madhairman - you can spell it: adzuki, azuki or aduki. people spell it differently. lol if you'd like to buy some, whole foods or another health market will likely have them, and you can also go to japanese or korean grocers and buy them. koreans and japanese use them a lot for making sweets- japanese: daifuku or korean: chapssalddeok, ichigo daifuku/ddalgi chapssalddeok (strawberry rice cake), tofu dango (tofu balls), taiyaki/bungeoppang (fish shaped sweet bean pasted stuffed pancake), etc..

  • A plant that grows abundantly wild in our area that has a lot of protein is the nettle - especially stinging nettle.

  • Have you tried growing your own beans Yankeeprepper? Apologies for intrusion, but what state or time zone, or region, do you live in? I'm from the Chicagoland area in Illinois. I'm just curioius if the climate where you live would allow for it. Just a suggestion-I've been looking into crops I can grow in SHTF/PAW. Low maintenance, reliablility in yield, nutrition, etc.

  • Raven...I live outside Chicago in the countryside...and I know that soybeans are big here....and nutritious too, but it takes a lot of room to grow them.. As far as adzuki beans go, being an Asian bean...sounds Japanese to me...I am sure it would grow in this area.

  • @MissPickletoes - yep, they're a japanese bean, but widely used throughout asia. koreans eat a lot of adzuki also.. they probably have their own name for the bean, but i don't know what it is.. and lol, we have similar names! how funny!

  • @RogueRaven17 - turnips, potatoes, root vegetables (carrots, salsify, beets, etc) as well as beans and grains would be good. i wouldn't suggest corn, though.. takes too many resources for the little it produces. sorghum, amaranth and quinoa would be good, though.. i would also suggest planting some fruit trees, if you are able to, and don't forget to include some luxury foods, like melons and tomatoes and things like that. it will be such a nice treat and something to look forward to post SHTF.

  • @misspookietoodle Chia seeds would be a very good item to stock. They last for years and grow easily, though they can be hard to harvest if not in the traditional way. Quinoa, the mother grain, and amaranth are also great choices. Kudos on your knowledge.

  • lol wow that is crazy i would like to try that,,that looks tastey,,nice vid dude

  • Yes thank you so much for the wonderful info and GOD BLESS YOU.

  • Damn good video and great idea. I will watch to see if more beans are available and I will try this out. Thanks for the time and effort here. Stay Alert! Stay Alive!

  • Looks great, i would'nt mine trying it.

    5* well done, Cheers.

  • Love this recipe! I also love beans. They are so good for you! Thanks YP!

  • Had a thought about how much energy it takes for prep -Cooking beans ,Blender and final fry-

plus no pre- made bread. It s ganna be hell in the

    Soylent green future!

-WHat is the actual flavor similar to (not chicken)

  • I think it tastes like soylent green.

  • Soylent Green ??? b..b..but Soylent Green is Peo..----arrrrghhhhhhhh!!!!!!! LOL Great stuff YP.

  • @Yankeeprepper ya very filling earthy flavor....but NOT nasty

  • Looks like I'm gonna have to try that. If u know any thing for a sausage or packable " meat " stick could u plz pass it on. U r a great person for putting all this out. Thanks.

  • ★★★★★

  • Do you think that farmer has more of these beans to sell. I would love a good source of these beans.

  • I am looking into that for another viewer as well. I should be able to find out today. I will post a video and how much is available.

  • @Yankeeprepper thanks! can't wait to hear from ya...just watched the fema camp tacos and can't wait to try that too! =)

  • ★★★★★

  • What happens when Juda comes and takes those beans?

  • Well, we all know what happen to Juda, right?

I will be sharing of course, but I won't be pleasant when they come to take it all. I get real crabby when I am hungry.

  • Excellent Post, Thanks

  • sounds good - look forward to trying

  • Can't wait to try this!

  • Awsome! Here azuki is a staple. But noone I know would even have thought of this since it is normally slow cooked with lots of sugar, water and a pinch of salt; used to stuff into rice cakes for a sweet Japanese snack. Wish I lived near enough so I could get a big sackful of American azuki from that farmer. I love your channel!

  • I have seen this made into a dessert!! On Youtube. I will try that too.

  • Okay so how do they actually taste? Is it like a soy burger? I like the idea though. I have been unable to find these beens locally. Cool ideas though, thanks for posting!

  • The don't taste like a big juicy beef burger. But they are not bad. You can add whatever spice you would like or cheese. I made a "chili burger" that was pretty good too.

  • Yankee, loved the video. So much to learn, thank you.

  • Yankee, thank you for sharing this recipe. See, I KNEW there had to be good bean recipes out there!

  • The next food network star. 5 stars.

  • Adzuki Beans are about £63 for 25kg in the UK. . . I bet you got them a lot cheaper

  • Great looking meal, and very affordable too.

I learned about the BROP system:

    Beans - 1/2 cup

    Rice - 1 cup

Oil (olive, rice, or coconut - metal container)

    Peanut - 1/4 cup

It provides calories, carbs, protein, and fat in the proper portions and is very inexpensive. Of course, it should only be considered as a BASE for your needs, because I'm not sure how long you could stay sane without variety in your diet.

Your videos are advanced techniques compared to what I have learned. Good job.

  • I always liked the soy burgers they had in my grade school

I got to try this Thanks for posting keep up the good work!

  • Nice idea for a Video - more please!!! I loved the cheers from the girls - nice ending!!

  • for the first time in my life I want to eat a veggie burger.

Just checked the Adzuki Beans for a 410g can they cost £0.74p. At that price I will have to try for sure.

  • @nkey01

A feel like i have found an ancient treasure pursing a prepper or self sufficient lifestyle. The discovery factor of a fine dinner or the feeling of a neatly stacked pile of wood is much more full filling to me than buying something at the mall or spending my day in an office.

Prepping and self sufficientcy isn't drudgery, it's FUN. God put us in a garden and all we had to do is enjoy life and keep the garden up, we built a parking lot where we spend all day waiting to go back

  • YP,

Very eloquent. I wish I could write so well.

I try my best to enjoy what I do, especially when it involves learning & trying out new things. We have a very small garden which is in Shade . I been growing plants since I was a kid & its one of the few pleasures I have.

I did king edward potatoes in pots last year, Ironhead41 has good vids on it. Watered them every morning & night & learned. It was such a joy to finally harvest them. Small in quanty but something I am happy

  • Clicked enter in error. Small in quantity but something I am happy I done it.

  • Hi nkey01. I grew potatoes in tubs for the first time last year. I left my Russian Banana Fingerlings in the tub (I've been eating the Yukon Golds). Our climate is normally mild enough that you can leave root veggies in the ground until you're ready to use them. But we had temps down to 3 degrees F, and my spuds froze and turned to mush. I, too, am happy I did it. I'll just harvest them all next fall.

  • bgmorse,

Even growing a little is rewarding. When I did it I spoke to family member who grow veg a lot and got advice from them. When to plant and harvest. My mother also told me how to store them too, but we eat them so did not need to.

    Good luck with this year.

  • Thanks nkey01. Good luck to you, too.

  • One other way to get--potentially--hundreds of pounds of food a year is to include fruiting bushes and trees in your yard.

While growing fruit trees sounds like a lot of work, the work can be reduced by using permaculture techniques.

And if you have neighbors also interested in growing fruit trees and bushes, you can cooperate by planting varieties that will pollinate each other. And, of course, you can share the excess fruit.

  • bgmorse,

thats all true & try to do a bit with the little we have. I have two grapevines, this is their third year and I hope they fruit this year. One of my neighbours has two old vines which fruit a lot. When i pruned my vines I put the two YO shoots into a pot just in case they grow. Its unlikely, but if they do I will give them away.

I did the same with roses last year and got 3 good plants from about 24 cuttings. to many HTs.

    Cont....

  • I got two blackberries from a 99p store in pots. if they dont take its only 99p. I had some patio apple trees in pots a few years ago, but killed them in 3 months.

I always grow more tomatoes plants than I need and give them away. The only problem is that not every one looks after them. They cost me near to nothing but I dont like the waste of my labour. I give away loads of tomatoes each year, I had three different types of tomatoes last year & they ripened at different times.

  • Ah tomato plants. I had lots of fried green tomatoes last summer. Not too many red ones, though.

Blackberries and peaches together make the best cobbler.

My brother cut off the tips of some of the branches on his huckleberries and gave them to me. I stuck them in one of my planters. I HOPE they are growing roots. It works with gooseberries, so why not huckleberries.

Wish I had some chicken manure from Yankee for fertilizer.

  • bgmorse,

I would like the chickens as well as the manure from YP.

I dont live far from a black mulberry tree which is over 300 years old (for real). It has really tasty fruit as I remember as a kid. I want to take cuttings and will try in the spring. They can take 10 yeas before they fruit.

    Hope the huckleberries have roots.

  • nkey01, I bet that's a beautiful tree.

    Good luck with the cuttings.

  • 5 stars. Excellent. Cheers

  • ingenious!

  • Those do look like burgers! I don't have tose type of beans but I'll try that with some black or pinto beans! Another good vid man!

  • Good Stuff thanks!

  • I don't know any farmers around where I live that have these. Where can I get some in bulk?

  • @95z28m6

    I don't know.

  • Does this actually taste anything like meat?

  • @95z28m6

No. You could add bullion if you want, Spice it up the way you prefer.

  • Oh and 5 stars on how good it looked. :)

    Thanks!

  • amazing!! thanks for the recipe

  • Great receipe bro.
