Hm, "guide music" this seems to me the good way of understanding the demand of scene.

But i will say tht some times when you share the guide music with composer then they try to create & compose similar to sample music as you already mention that some of music composed by chris sounds similiar to guide music, but i think here comes the role of the brilliant music director or composer to create some thing new & brilliant at the same time , like the one created in Matrix music which won them oscar

The key idea is to take the feel of the guide music and produce an original soundtrack that creates the same feel as the directors wanted. If you have 6 months to do a soundtrack you can afford to spend the time playing with ideas and implementing as many original themes and innovative ideas as you can, however the current soundtrack has fundamentally been written in 2 weeks, so texturally it was essential to keep it similar to the guide as frankly there wasn't much time at all.

Great video! I find filmmakers often complain about finding composers for their films. I guess having a lot of friends in the performing arts community helps!
