cedricduval1992 press ctrl+d to deselect all or command+d on a mac then select the layer you want to apply the glow to and then try it.

Lol this video made me weak, alright so I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. I did the swirls around the arms then deleted the part I didn't want using the make selection. However, when I go to do outer glow to change the color it shows where the marching ants used to be and makes them the color I choose as well, any ideas on how to fix this?

I have a question! How do you delete your path? Because I'm trying, but it doesn't want to work with me. Like then you did the pretty effect of the trail going around her arms?

@MistyHollowDrummer If you right-click with your pen tool in use, there will be a line that says "Delete Path." Click that and the path will be gone. You can also go to your Paths menu and right-click the path layer and delete it that way, or drag it to the trash bin.

@MistyHollowDrummer Oh! You made the little swirls already, and you were trying to delete some parts? Once you hit make selection and you see the marching ants, just press the delete button on your keyboard, and those parts will be gone. Make sure you have the right layer selected also.
