  • hi, have u heard of cyclical ketogenic diet? its 6 days of very low carb and high fats and proteins and one day of cheat where u deliberately eat lager amounts of carbs. the insulin spike helps keep your metabolism up and keep thyroid gland in check. Weightloss increases by 5times.

  • @ilovethechallenge I have heard of it, but while it may work for some, it would not be a long term way of eating for me. Soon the carb days would be two days, and then three days. The carb cravings would come back, and overall I believe I would more miserable for it. My athletic performance and metabolism is going well after 7 years.

With my weight loss being almost 5 pounds per week, I am not sure I wanted it to be much faster. The goal of Atkins is not speedy weight loss, but permanent.

  • With creatine you shouldn't take it with anything or have anything in your stomach when you take it. That's why you didn't notice a difference on or off it. If you take your creatine drink an hour after shakes, and 2 hrs after meal, wait 30-45 mins you will notice a difference.

  • too many hot wings from Wal-Mart--funny!

  • In one of your previous videos you had stated that you had a little bit of loose skin. One of the things I have heard about p90x was that it can help tighten that loose skin because it lowers your body fat % enough to where the sub dermal fat no longer makes the skin appear as flabby. If you notice any improvement please let us know. thx

  • Well exercise and P90x in specific can help rebuild the muscle underneath the skin and improve one's BF %. It won't repair damaged skin -- i.e. skin that has lost its elasticity from overstretching and stretchmarks. I noticed no change in my loose skin before or during P90x.

  • man your awesome keep it up p90x is tough

  • Congrats on the first 10 days...

  • Go Bowulf ! So, you are extremely analytical about this, and I'm interested in following your progress -- keep it up !

  • Thanks for watching, and I hope my results are as impressive as yours!

  • hey bowulf im actually pretty skinny and am getting in shape for highschool baseball and im lookin for somethin that will help me gain weight, stay in shape, and have muscle...would you suggest this or anything???

  • You are doing a great job! I'm starting to really research P90X and may do it after I build some basic strength and stamina.I would like to complete it before New Years to be honest. I hear you on technical Atkins. I find I feel much better and have more energy even if I eat fewer carbs than usual if I am eating good meats and lots of veggies versus processed meat or shakes etc.

  • Thanks for the comments. It really is amazing what the body can do as you devote time and energy into it. It becomes a feedback loop after awhile as the positive results breed more time and energy investment.

  • you should do max ot training. do the reserch it seems to work well.

  • Never heard of it before your post, but my brief search is intriguing. Once I correct perhaps my strengths imbalances especially core, that might be the next level of training. A lot of the same concepts are in P90x.

  • I noticed a weight gain the first week and a half also, so don't sweat it!!! You seem to be doing great!! Keep it up!! :)

  • Kent, you are following the proven formula--diet and exercise. You will most definitely achieve your fitness goals. Can't wait to hear about the 1/2 marathon!

    Hello bunnies! ;D

  • My "want" of your past video is to complete P90x each and every day. The other want I have is probably going to be addressed later sub 4 hour (3:45 is my goal) marathon. I may have others (like lowering the BF% or dropping another 10 pounds), but those are definitely side-effects of my primary goal activities.

  • You have a good attitude when it comes to this. A lot of people might get discouraged to the point of quitting without results, but you're looking at the positive and trying to adjust your nutrition for the next week. It's actually a hard thing to adjust even more after making so many changes to a routine.. but your attitude is one reason why I subscribe to you.

I do hope your next 10 days go better in terms of results though. Good luck - I look forward to your updates. :)

  • Thank you for kind words... I feel fortunate to have Youtube friends like you guys to watch and interact this journey with me.

  • why the kitties locked in the cage in the background :(

  • Those are actually rabbits - one Dutch and one lop-eared. One of them wanted to get out for his nightly romp on the stairs.

  • ah.. love bunnies. good luck on your p90x journey ! GO ARMY !

  • great vid. best of luck on your success.

  • Thanks for your comments.

  • Heh, remember what they are doing on the DVD's is our goal, not what we are expected to do :-)

I couldn't do a single pullup, when I started and can do two now. I can't do the single leg squats yet, I just do another regular wall squat.

Don't forget, muscle weighs more than fat, so you may see gains early. I saw my weight go up early while my waist was shrinking.

Keep it up and keep us posted.

  • I know, but sometimes it is just frustrating when you hope to see some shrinkage in the waist. Until then I'll keep pressing to do more than I did last week. The dumbbells was very nice add. I think going forward that will help get me over the top in progress.

Working out to bands just doesn't seem the same. It's too easy to have poor form. It's good to know I don't have to best them -- one-upping myself is challenge enough. :-D

  • Good to see your update. I need to add more runs as my focus has been on P90X. I need to get better at that! Glad you are doing well.
