  • This sound is simply ........ amazing. How in real.

  • Those c-clamps had better be dang tight!

  • Put a finger in it

  • 9 cylinder???

  • he should have tried to stop it with his fingers.lol

  • Thats such a beautifull radial ^_^

  • Shivers down my spine!

    That sounded so nice!

  • if he cranked that the whole table would take off. Sushi anyone?

  • Yeah i think they should have opened up the throttle

  • Would this be at the Puyallup Fair Grounds? Looks a bit like it.

  • @Beemerboy324 I think this is east cost? North American Model Engineering Society convention 2011 is in Michigan.

  • Gotta hand it to you, that's one sweet engine. what's the displacement? rpm? torque?

  • Throw a tomato into it, this is YouTube.

  • He cant crank it, can you see it trying to fly off the table? you can see the back of the plank of wood slightly lifting.

  • @UrbanDenim Um, yes, I would have moved the clamps as far back as they could go. What if they let go ?

  • I've been an aerial applicator for 22 years and currently I fly a Grumman G164, Ag Cat with a nine cylinder radial engine. The Pratt & Whitney R-985, which denotes 985 cubic inches. The "R" means that it's a radial engine. It produces 450 horsepower at only 2150 RPM. What interested me about the tiny radial engine is that the real R985 lopes the same way at idle.

  • Hey! Who's talking? SHUT UP !!!

  • Sweet, I love radial engines. Nothing sounds like em no matter how small.. or large. Awesome work building that 9 cyl.

  • This engine deserves a better microphone!

  • silnik z samaolotu tzw: "gwieździsty" ;p

  • its steam engine?

  • You are kidding, right? O_o

  • Definitely looks the part.

  • Put it in a corsair!!

  • YES HI FIVE -hi fives-

  • WOW!! that is going to look and sound STUNNING in a scale warbird!!!

  • how much power does that lil guy make?

  • i'd imagine a decent amount since there's constant force applied on the crankshaft. i wonder how that applies to torque? experts?

  • nice workmanship

  • I think that if you used gas then you could fly.

  • sweet sound, great job, who did the machining?

  • That's SOME table fan!!!!!!!

    (I know,I know,it's a RC aircraft engine.)

  • imagine getting your fingers inbetween those blades! ouch!

  • I just keep picturing him giving it too much throttle and that table scooting across the floor or falling over!

  • very nice love it to cool

  • My buddies Great grandfather was a mechanic on the real things in world war 2

  • Dedication.

Love to have a full scale in the back yard and to start it on sunday mornings with a lot of excess fuel to hear her cough and fart...AAHH music to my ears...

  • Haha imagine the neighbours, its still a great idea though.

  • F- the neighbors!

  • yea, your the only dick licking asshole who wants to do that.

  • Yes, you are.

  • Am I the only one who wanted him to crank it.

  • An R/C B-17 bomber with 4 of those bad cats would be awesome, 9-cyl radials that is, hehehe!!!

  • A radial is an internal combustion engine with all superfluous crap removed.

  • 好啊

  • I don't see the muffler. I stood next to a B 25 as it taxied and took off. It was louder that a jet with the two radial engines at full power.

  • Electric motors suck , they may go like hell but have absolutely no soul and sound like crap. Radials rule!

  • amazing

  • Excellent work...it even has that Radial sound.

I can't use a power drill so I cannot even begin to imagine the total amount of work involved.

I am stunned with admiration with all of the mini-engines represented here at YT.

*I really can us a power drill...but a Lathe is like a Spaceship from Alpha Centauri to me*

  • May I use it as a fan??? jajaja! Nice job!

  • Is that a Cosworth or a Corsare,he he.

  • Now all you need is a 1:5 scale Stearman to put behind it.

  • thats awesome!!!!!! sounds SWEET!!!

  • Man, that is REALLY nice! Sounds just like a junior version of the big boys...

  • Yep! Ya gotta love the sound. You cant get that with electric! Nothin like the real thing! Awesome!

  • Aren't there forums thats discuss engine design ? Personally I think electric motors is more the future, but I still love listening to radial engines, hummm maybe a radial electric motor would be cool?lol ; )

  • all electric motors are radial in a sence

  • useful when summer..

  • tiny version of the old Douglas aircraft engines of old... sweet :)

  • nice engine

if tahst for a model/rc plane saito sells them

i warn you they arent cheap

about 1800 at least i think

  • Saito doesn't make a 9 cylinder.

  • nice engine with i had one

  • Love it

  • Careful of fingers!!

    could have a mesh cover?

    Lovely engine.

  • Beautiful engine. I'll be waiting for you to put two of those together and make a double wasp! hehe

  • What a jewel!!! Superb!!

  • where the hell do you buy radial engines from?? black market?
